  1. Steps but want to off road eventually

I didn't mean to be so crass, but I have the same issue and was offering a solution. The enclosed pics are what I use for my wife. I refuse to add 'low hanging' items to the truck that could be picked off by a rock outcropping. I had a Tundra with steps that got surgically removed on an...
  2. Steps but want to off road eventually

    Here you go....
  3. Matching Trailer?

Not exactly a match, but the trailer is also a Rubicon.
  4. Texas moving thread

Just register it in New Mexico. I live in Las Cruces and there are a lot of folks working at Bliss that live in NM. Registration for my Gladiator for 2 years is $120.00. Not sure what it costs there in Texas. Also, we do not (yet) have those silly smog requirements. So, every other year, you...
  5. Gladiator vs Rivian collision results

Bump into my Jeep Gladiator, it may leave a mark.
  6. Should I lift the Gladiator or not?

After owning and lifting a lot of 4 wheel drive vehicles,; I have figured that those folks over at Jeep/Toyota/Ford/etc... have to design the vehicles to best perform within their spaces. A lot of design goes into these vehicles and the limits of the design and of the actual components is...
  7. Openroad winch - cable impacting grille

On mine, I used the Warn Winch plate and the OEM steel bumper mounting the Openroad winch. I had to mount it with the cables facing forward too for the same reason. I noticed that there was some places (where the grommets for the cables come together) and I sealed these with RTV to keep the...
  8. Trout Safari Overland Expedition Build

What caliber of gun do you use on a trout safari? Asking for a friend...
  9. Cold air intake recommendations?

My Rubicon came with the Mopar CAI. I can tell you that it made all the difference in the world. I have also had a 21 Gladiator Overland without it. The difference: Gladiator with CAI: - 750 HP Increase! - Turns corners at better than 3 g's of lateral force and stays firmly on the road. -...
  10. Who Wants to Compare Personal Property Taxes? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

No property taxes on vehicles. Registration for 2 years is about $130.00 per vehicle. Both the Gladiator and the Wrangler are covered until 2024. When I was in California, vehicle registration was well over $700 per year for my 2018 Tundra and $650 for my 2019 4Runner. I was so glad to move...
  11. Made the jump from 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport

Welcome to the fold. I made the swap in 21 with a trade in of my 21 TRD Pro Taco for a Gladiator Rubicon. Since then, I have gladly taken the Gladiator on many off road excursions that I would have thought twice before taking the Taco there. I am hoping that the reliability that I gave up with...
  12. 30 second convenience install

I just chuck mine in the console and plug it into the USB in there. I use Android auto or my smart watch to get to the phone. The only thing out is the ham radio and that is mounted up on the dash. I like the Uber tip trays though.
  13. White trash winch install

Quit chasin em down with the truck. Try a .308.
  14. Back seats begone!

With that setup, my dogs can stand in the back.
  15. Power Sliding Rear Window - It's possible!

I do miss the "disappearing" rear window on my 2018 Tundra. That's all I miss other than the 5.7 liter motor.......
  16. $150 for a map update??

Yeah, no. I am sure the updates cost a lot to do, but I will leave it up to services I already use on my phone. I have a Magellan as a back up when I get in those areas where there is no cell service (which happens a lot).
  17. JT tailgate weight?

Either way. I (and the dogs) stay the hell away from them. I have been able to identify them as they fly around. If I see one, I head inside. By the way, they are New Mexico's state insect. For the response about the tailgate weight, I just thought I would send in the pic of the tarantula hawk...
  18. JT tailgate weight?

    Too heavy for this hornet.
  19. Car Manufacturers Monetizing Ownership

I can imagine sitting on the trail trying to select lock for both and front diffs, Then you get a warning to pay for the feature if wanted to use. So, right there on the trail with folks lined up in front of you and behind you waiting for your payment to clear so you can get the lockers to...
  20. JT v. Taco: Which is objectively built better? 2021 Gladiator vs 2021 Tacoma comparison review by owner

I get it. When my daughter wanted to trade in her Nissan Frontier, I recommended a Tacoma for her. I know I will not get that phone call late at night to come over and help her with her truck because of..... Well, she moved to Cape Cod and she is far away from me, but she is driving a 2021 TRD...
