I used to run that with 35's and it sat almost exactly level running empty. If you wheel, say goodbye to your rear fender flairs. People that claim 35s and 37s fit with a leveling kit must not wheel or they installed longer bump stops in the rear. My 35's wedged against the flairs when I...
It occurred to me I had not done an update after two trips towing the Rpod and loaded down. These were not wheeling trips, more just camping. In installed 235 mud tires on the trailer as well.
With the bed loaded with 10 gallons of fuel, a 90lb generator, about 150lbs of fire wood, chairs...

This is my setup, cheap, easy to take on and off, and I tow a TT twice a month.
In engineering school, we took the pinion gear and weld the base to a plate so it would stick up vertically, gear end up. We would then tack on a couple of big ball bearings on each side and paint it purple (I think you get the picture). A select group of graduating seniors would present the...
Drink your coffee and calm down brother.
The point being that GG may not be an amazing upgrade to the standard glass and may not be worth the hundreds of dollars extra. I thought it was a neat idea to help prevent this long time issue and at least for me, it was not. I didn't get an...
The GG windshield is snake oil. Mine lasted 2 days and it cracked all the way across. I returned to the dealership and there was not a GG replacement to be found. I had them put the regular glass in and upgrade my window tint for the difference in cost.
A year later and no cracks.
I have 0MM offset (5" BS) on 17x9's with 37x12.5's with this kit...so far no rubbing. Clayton's front LCA's have a "curve" built into them to aid tire clearance where some other brands do not. Just another plus in the overall design of the kit.
In the end, the proof is in the puddin' as they say. There is so much information and miss-information out there, how can someone decide? Take vast differences in price into account and how does one really know if they are getting what they are paying for, or if they are paying way too much...
As noted, the problem of using sliders as steps is you do not accomplish much. My wife is maybe 5'3" with short legs and when the lift and 37s went on, I had to give her a boost to get in, lol. I got to make fun of her for having trouble getting in her own Jeep until she put her foot down and...
The kit has rake (see pic), which is great if you are "overlanding" with a bed full of gear or towing a trailer. I am wondering if you used the 3.5 front springs and 2.5 rear springs if it would sit level? I got more like 4" front and almost 5" of rear lift empty (keeping in mind I have a full...
I have had three Skyjacker lifts in my time. On a JKU, I had their full 2.5" kit with all the CA's on 33s, it rode like a dump truck, did not flex great, and did not drive well (two hands on the wheel at highway speeds and death wobble here in there). On a FJ, I had a 4" kit and I had to...
It was on Adam's advice that we went with this kit over some of the others we were looking at. We are so glad we did! Adam is top notch and always steers us in the right direction.
I quick comment: I installed the Clayton 3.5" Overland kit with Fox 2.0s. We did our first "weekend overlanding" trip on the lift and 37s. It consisted of at least 400lbs of gear in the bed and towing a 3,500lb travel trailer with about 400lbs of tongue weight. I have airbags installed from...
5:13s on 37s and I tow a 3,500 lb travel trailer a lot and it does it reasonably. I didn't tow with the 3.73s but I can imagine it would not be all that fun. Our wimpy V6's need a lot of gear.
I took delivery, woke up the next morning and the GG windshield was cracked all the way across, lol. I took it back and the dealer could not get the replacement, so I had them replace it with the standard glass and throw in window tinting for the cost difference. 10k miles later and all good.
I am running Fox 2.0's on my 3.5" Clayton lift and it rides wonderfully. It is stiff enough to corner better than stock but plush enough to take a big hit smoothly. I also tow a travel trailer and they are very stable.
Overall, I am more happy with the 2.0s than I thought I would be.
