So finally got to take the JT on some small dirt roads over the weekend. Was going to try crossing a small river branch that was about 12- 14" deep back in August.
Was very calm back then and could easily walk into. Saw some guy on a 4 runnings go thru it now issues.
Fast forward 4 weeks and...
Just wanted to share a bad purchase experience with these guys... Hopefully steer people away from that company.
Was super exited to find a Smittybilt XRC Gen2 front bumper for my JT at such a good deal.
Ordered the item on their eBay site, it was showing in stock on their website.
Paid...
Well it was a pain the first time I tried. I didn't think it would fit... then posted a question here and someone showed me how they installed their using zip ties to hold the bracket folded in place)...
Tried again and it went in w/o issues!
You just have to loosen the rail bolts (install...
Should bolt on the factory rubi rail or if you don't have any step bar.
Does come with the hardware for install w/o rail... Didn't need to use it since I already had the Rubi stuff.
That being said it makes it a little easier but looking at the wife getting in still doesn't look like a piece of...
Ya gonna try the zip tie trick to see if this helps.
I'm wondering if somehow they sent me the wrong item cause order shows JL not JT. Pretty i ordered the JT.
I took the rail completely out so it's not an issues of getting it on, it's the spring that's hitting the bracket.
So was trying to be nice to my wife and got her a single MORE hide a step.
Trying to install it today but it doesn't appear to slide in all the way.
Anyone had issues with it? Doesn't seem that it will go all the way in.
Install instructions show a narrower rock rail bracket... Not sure if I...
done. Tom's the man. Just got the Added Care Plus 8/100 with $200 deduct.
Figured that suspension crap, hoses and stereo is stuff that I can replace (and upgrade) but at least engine/tranny/diffs will be covered in case of a major incident!
looking at the comparison posted here between the plan (https://jeepfactorywarranty.com/components-covered/) I see that one of the main thing not covered in the added plus is the uconnect unit.
Since I have the 8.4 and also the advanced safety features (auto cruise) it might make sense for me to...
Based on what I found here https://jeepfactorywarranty.com/components-covered/
Leaning towards the added plus as it's about half the cost of Max but still cover all the big items.
Thoughts?
so reached out to Tom, seems like it does make sense and appears to be the best deal I could find...
now just need to figure out whether to get the max care or added care plus... Not sure the max care is worth the extra, ya it covers everything but I'm honestly more getting it as a major...
did you find the site sponsor that provides the warranty? I found a couple dealerships and contact info for one in particular that keeps popping up when doing warranty search.
I'll check the sponsor section! TY.
Also do you guys know is all the different sites are the same company or they are all different and not affiliated with Jeep?
moparservicecontract.com
chrysler-factory-warranty.com
Jeepfactorywarranty.com
Trying to figure out if all these sites are the same company and have anything to do with Chrysler or just third party.
I'm leaning towards not getting it but still in the back of my mind.
Keep getting spam every couple of weeks from moparservicecontract.com, chrysler-factory-warranty.com, and Jeepfactorywarranty.com for extended coverage on my Rubicon.
On the fence with getting this. I do plan on keeping the truck for a while... and will likely do more to it down the road...
