I have problems with trusting the dealership service too. Part of it probably relates to the decreased sales of Jeep--at one local dealer and Jeep service has one rep that may or may not be in the shop. At another local dealer the Jeep service has been closed and they send you to the nearby...
FYI Looking at pics of all the existing repair plates the plastic above the visor has a wide flat area towards the windshield:
Here is my 2024 with a ridge towards the windshield.
Thanks ChecksOut! Just had an odd occurrence where the "soft buttons" on the screen were all greyed out and a couple other issues. The manual only indicates doing your step #2. Did this a few times and it still glitched. Did the rest of the steps you found and it's back to working!
Stingray, your thread brought up my most recent visit too. Don't want to derail your thread with my experience, but I really wonder if they did the large amount of warranty work they charged Jeep for. Can't really tell, and I would think asking would not be useful.
Just wish I could trust...
Just a heads-up: I thought I would add these plates as a preventive measure on my 2024. I think there was a tweak in the Jeep design and the holes on the plate do not line up. Anyone try this on a 2024 -2025?
Greetings from Stillwater MN! Looking for good dealer service experiences in the area. Any recommendations would be welcome! [Have a minor issue that might involve removing the dash--but might decide to live with it instead]
I look at it as there are "good oil changes and bad oil changes." (To paraphrase yet another Seinfeld quip.) JT is SO easy it's actually kind of fun. Ford van that we have is almost as easy so I do my own. Our older Lexus, with the oil filter mounted sideways so it's almost impossible to...
Another minor tweak. Not sure who thought of this first (Nice wiring diagram!) but thanks for the idea to attach a battery tender via the trailer hitch! Gave it a test, and working great--just hanging out next to my bed divider waiting to be needed.
One option they did offered for someone on a Wrangler forum is this: Provide a unit with no velcro at all. The velcro we install sticks to the exposed headliner fabric, so the velcro on the headliner would not be needed if you wanted to keep the Marine fabric exposed. Not sure how it turned...
Once you have your fitment sorted out, you might want to try a Hothead Headliner. Just added one myself, and my wife and I both noticed that it's way quieter. (I do wish Hothead offered one with the sun-resistant Marine cloth on both sides, but that's a different subject)
