Late last night we received an email from the FCC granting a license for the General Portion of the Amateur Radio.
KN4VYV is our new call sign. Will go over the new rig that I currently have chosen and an install in our current rig that will translate to a basic how to for the Gladiator.
Honestly if this becomes an issue someone will make an aftermarket heating element. This is why personally I’ll go this route. Also there are lenses you can apply as well as hydrophobic treatments. IMHO this isn’t going to be a issue.

Quick updates:
Have made some contacts and have a sponsorship. Though not really a Jeep related sponsorship it does tie in with a Overlanding. But Duane Dwyer from Strider Knives has committed to come on board. It should be interesting for sure. If you do not know who he is he is a custom knife...
Sorry just now saw this. I haven’t installed it yet myself. Just from what others have said. Could you please share the wire that where needed to be changed over?
Haha just because a few people on this forum have heard of it doesn’t mean this or that. What matters is those who use these things day in and day out using a vehicle similar as ours have heard of the,. One thing is that his controller is newer to the US market, it made its name in Australia by...
So you are disqualifying what is arguably the best brake controller on the market because of a two minute pull out two wires from the adapter harness and reinsert. A monkey can do that swap. All it takes is a small screw driver or a pick to get it out of the harness? Confused look...
How was the install? Did you do a write up? I am very interested in this unit myself. I think it has everything I want and nothing I don’t. But unlike many i would also be pulling a trailer offroad as well. Something about having brakes on even a smaller camper. So much more of a joy to pull and...
Don’t know when but am looking at the Redarc elite Brake Controller instead of the factory one. Seems to be the best on the market right now as far as options and controls. I a, still learning though and only practical experience with them was a few years ago in my Silverado built in as well as...
I can’t be the only one who is enthralled by Redarc and their many different Battery Management and Charging options. That said, not being up to date on brake controllers on he market and with the factory option being nonexistent. How does the Tow Pro Elite stack up?
I am looking for an option...
Time will tell. I feel this is not going to happen next month thing and will take myself and many other *hint, hint* to light a fire under goosegears ass to make a solution that fits our needs and does so elegantly!
I also would love to see a underneath the drivers seat drawer like that from a...
I feel then your overthinking it here. Get a base trailer that meets your basic needs. Then you can add on as you gain more experience. The issue your going to have is all the stuff you mentioned doesn’t come for free and is going to blow your budget. Things like a base Offroad trailer and...
Not going to argue too much here but I completely disagree with you here. I know you have a background in the Army and so do I. I have had much experience behind the wheels of these, around under, even considered a command vehicle as a Overlanding rig. That said milspec is not what you think it...
Honestly for what you are doing a stage one would work out well. In the end many are looking to squeeze out maximum articulation, travel, and adjustability.
Honestly they even have one above that as well that gives the most as a coilover Kit, long arm and can add hydraulic bump stops as well...
Don’t buy from eBay. Go to the government auctions themselves,
Notes:
They are simple to repair, any major truck shop can work on them. Ain’t no issues with parts as it isn’t a unimog. Tires you don’t buy new you buy surplus from military with 90% Tread life for about $800 for all the tires...
That build wasn’t [Banned Site] but done by dynatrac for Overland expo west. A build of many faucets between Dynatrac, Patriot Campers, and using a hellcat engine and bodyshop is the basic of it, look up dynatrac codex.
I posted above your my preference. But we are planning on multi week/month trips. Mainly offgrid type camping and traveling in austere environments and through different countries. Needs tend to change from being able to build a platform bed under a leer to something more exclusive. At my age...
