Dealership records are being confused with carfax reports. BMW CPO is actually pretty great and thorough and a lot of things can make it not pass CPO. Leases get turned in early because of lease pull ahead programs. It’s a good way to keep customers in the brand.

One of the reasons, I got this bumper was because it had an integrated spot for aux lights. They’re nice for back up too, but I have them wired to the aux switches. I wanted it separate. They make them that work with the factory bumper and come on automatically with the factory reverse lights.

Dealership doesn’t give a damn about that. If it passes CPO, it’s backed by a mfr warranty. Actually, in a lot of ways it removes headaches for them and it’s definitely better for CSI, which is huge in its own right.

Do this. Tell them that you want to buy it CPO. bullshit your way through it if you don’t actually want CPO. If they give you a price of what it would cost as CPO then nothing to worry about. If they won’t sell it as CPO, that’s a major red flag. Walk away. There’s a reason it won’t pass CPO...
