  1. How to pick wheel and tire size

When I had a Sport S Max Tow, here's what I found: - 35s will not fit stock. They'll rub the lower air dam really bad. - 2" front lift will clear the 35s but still requires minor trimming of the lower air dam. - 17x8.5" wheels with +10 offset causes the tires to stick out. If you want to...
  2. Good deals on winches?

Instead of buying a $300 winch plate, I got a $300 winch bumper. Rampage "Rock Rage" bumper installed easily and accepts the APEX 12k winch perfectly. There was a large work van with marble counter tops in it buried in a wet soggy field 100 feet from pavement earlier this year. I used the...
  3. Good deals on winches?

Badland APEX 12000 is what I run. $529 and it's awesome. Syn rope and wireless remote and battery cable isolator kill switch included.
  4. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

A few more tidbits I've noticed: - ESS events work better. The engine restarts faster and smoother when I let off the brake pedal. I assume this is a result of the new injection mapping, but I can't say for sure. All I know is that ESS operation is much smoother now. - Throttle response...
  5. No more drain plug?

Obviously for scheduled maintenance you would pop the inspection cover, clean the magnet, look at the spider and side gears, etc. That's always a good idea. The reason the fill and drain plugs are so nice is for those unexpected high water crossings or off road scenarios where you need to...

This thread went off the rails on page 1, so it just turned into a free for all and that makes me chuckle. Threads like this are good for the soul.
  7. No more drain plug?

I think all the ones I've seen without a drain plug so far were Rubicon. I wonder if wide track vs standard axle has anything to do with this? Hmm...

Nothing is finalized until we see a picture of a box spring through a window.

  10. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

They had told me that they were going to put it online on Saturday but my only guess is that after getting feedback they may have postponed it to tweak the transmission calibration that I spoke about at the end of my video. Just a guess...
  11. No more drain plug?

Of course you can but that's 12 bolts instead of one 1 plus a gasket you have to fool with. If you're somebody who off roads quite a bit and does water crossings it's so much more convenient to have drain and fill plugs.
  12. @ShadowsPapa

The guys on the 2022 Tundra facebook page are all mad because dealers are making them up anywhere from $10k to $45k. I saw one Tundra TRD Pro (which isn't even available until Q2 2022) offered for sale at $110,000.

What did you guys have for lunch today? I had frozen sweet n sour chicken chinese food. It wasn't bad.
  14. Dealer wants to install a non Mopar fuel filter

Service interval is not 30k. It's every other oil change, and oil changes are required before 10k, so that means you should be changing the fuel filter well before 20k miles. Just order one from dieselfiltersonline.com like the rest of us. $37 bucks for Mopar genuine, delivered in 2-3 days...
  15. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

The power and fuel efficiency is awesome. But it also sounds better, runs smoother, and probably will last longer due to the more efficient use of the low-side EGR.
  16. No more drain plug?

Just checked mine and it does have a drain plug in the front and rear.
  17. First post! with a serious question regarding a 5.9 cummins...

A 2001 Ram HD with the 5.9 Cummins pre-emissions engine and the NV5600 trans is a holy grail pickup truck. DO NOT CHOP IT UP. I would love to have one but up here every one you find either has 400,000 miles on it or the body is heavily rusted. My father bought a 2002 Ram 3500 dually with the...
  18. No more drain plug?

Some guys on the JL side noticed that builds during the summer of 2021 stopped coming with drain plugs on the front differential. Mine was build 5-27-21 and I'll look and see if it still has the drain plugs front and rear later today. How about you guys? Have you noticed that the drain plug...
  19. Researching tires to replace my factory Falkens

The new Milestar Patagonia A/T Pro is due out next summer. That's my next tire. Yep. The price you pay to go from an over-rated tire to a quality tire with thick sidewalls. Next time you've got a Falken tire dismounted, reach in with your hand and pinch the sidewalls around the bead with...
  20. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Code didn't come back on the way to work today. So hopefully it won't. GDE posted in another forum that they'd take a look at the below 15 MPH trans programming and see if they can smooth that back out a bit. Said they programmed that in on purpose to warm up things faster and mainly for...
