Discussion stars at 10%
Dude, focus ... Any serious discussion starts at 10% under FCA employee pricing and works from there.
Otherwise the savvy buyer walks his ass over to a Tacoma, Gawd forbid.
My thought was, with all the unrest, vandalism, and lootings going on around the country, vendors in the security-device industry, like Tuffy, might begin offering lock-box units that fit new(re) vehicles on the market, like the 2020 Glads.
Yeah, that's why I wanted to do it: ... to honor my Dad. He was Big Army ('51-'52) and a Korean War vet.
I'm thinking now it would be more appropriate to put the large, distressed-style Army 'Star' decals on the two doors, rather than the flags maybe.
I saw those big stars on the doors of a...
Just wanted to wish my fellow Gladiator owners and Jeepsters in general a happy and safe 4th of July!
Have any of you added any type of patriotic decals to your Gladitor, like those vinyl 'distressed' flag decals on your hood or on the door?
I've seen a number of Wranglers with the flag...
A couple of mine ...
Took delivery in January. It has over 2500 miles as of yesterday. Only real mod was a bedliner.
I think the 'mono-color' look - with the body-matching Gator roof and fenders - makes it stand out. Haven't seen many mono-color Gladiators in any color around here, so...
It seems to me that's what Jeep should've done originally: made the bottom seats lockable too, same as the folding back portion of the seats.
Then, in stead of a plastic wall, they should've used thick steel, and the net security effect - with the bottom seats locked in the down position -...
If Tuffy ever gets back to you, please let us know.
The underseat geometry they would need to replicate to create a steel lockbox that bolts in there can't be that challenging.
Maybe Tuffy is trying to assess whether there's enough demand for such a unit in the market of Gladiator owners.
That's essentially why I started this thread:

I was hoping Tuffy would get around to engineering an underseat STEEL lockbox just for that purpose.
I had a Tuffy lockbox with a slide-out drawer in my old 2001...
Yep, for sure.
Did you remove the right-side seats in order to create space for a homemade lockbox? If so, can you post up some pics here when it's finished? Thx!
I was just looking at the underseat storage area with the seats raised. I opted not to get the factory polymer security box, so it's just the polymer border thing (like a wall) that's bolted to the floot ... But I was trying to imagine how large a steel lockbox (obviously a long, narrow one)...
Same here.
Well, hopefully, once this CORVID-19 thing is no longer a 'thing,' we can look forward to the aftermarket lockbox vendors catching up to the security elements of our 2020 JTs.
