I agree. And it happens on brand new Jeeps, and on Jeeps where the steering gear has been replaced. I've read all these posts since the first TSB was written for steering problems.

I was at a public school where they dropped off a young child for first day of grade one. Child didn't speak english. Wasn't registered. They tried every language staff and children knew. End of the day they waited for the parent to return...did.
They wouldn't touch the steering gear. Maybe cost? Maybe the supplier pays for replacement?
I wanted them to adjust the steering gear. They never did. It's easy.
Yakima had a warning sign that would get you to check heights.
It was up out of the way when travelling at any speed.
Stopped, or going very slow it would drop down and warn you.

I wonder if they actually reflashed the steering "brain" at the dealer. It would be really easy to check off the box saying it's done and move onto another vehicle.
It's easy to adjust the steering gear, as long as there is good access. Access is my issue; lot older now.
