The dealer who refused spent some time with the Jeep in the shop. Then took it on a short test drive. Had left the Jeep there. It was there all day. Handed the TSB to the service writer.
Convinced that they have a standard test drive. One with no hazards so they won't have insurance claim...
A while back I asked @JeepCares for help. They helped me a lot. However, I'm Canadian and it's a different company in Canada. Same Jeep....
I contacted them because the selling dealer service department refused to change the steering gear. They took it for a test drive (6 minutes long.) It...
Check out the new TSB. 08-03-21
Changes:
* It replaces the old one.
* It shows dealers how to deal with modified and lifted jeeps.
* Adds an alignment
* Adds a new track bar for older (like mine) JL's. Not JT's.
Shows Jeep has attempted to make the process idiot proof for dealers. So the right...

I'm beyond frustrated. The steering gear was changed on our Wrangler. It's better; it's not good. There's a dead band on centre.
Now this new TSB would do additional work, and It's not been done on our Jeep.
*...
I've looked for it but haven't found it yet.
The Jeep handles so much better than it did. So "it's good enough"

No alignment was shown on the TSB when mine was done.
I haven't seen the new TSB. :(
There's a dead-band on centre but at least the Jeep Wrangler doesn't wander as it used to.

Hi D
* had to complain for a year about the bad steering; complained on the day we picked it up.
* heard *it's a Jeep thing!* every service visit.
Things turned around when I PM'd 2JeepCares They referred me to FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care. I told the contact that the Jeep was unsafe.
I...
Here's a copy of post 2190 on the Wrangler forum--same topic.
Concern is: Was the computer refreshed when the dealer did the steering gear change? The writer describes that his WASN'T. And this is how he knew:
" For those who didn't see an improvement or got worse after the new steering...
Beautiful! Stayed at the Wick for about a week some years back. Walked the Boardwalk in the Rain Forest. Amazing. Kayaked to an island; saw amazing trees. First time in my life I felt I had roots. Left Victoria when I was 11 months old; Navy brat.
I have several Tilley hats too. They work really well. Adjustable chinstrap. another strap behind the head.
Bought my first one for canoeing. Absolutely essential when the weather is bad in a canoe. They have worked really well in convertibles and the Jeep.
Check for issues...
*bolts tight?? (I don't know the torque off-hand)
*fluid???reservoir up to full mark?
*steering wheel centred?
*reflashed?? reprogramming the steering brain is part of the work
It would to slip up if the tech was pulled off the job....
I really value your posts highly.
It took a year (from delivery) to get our steering gear replaced. It's much better.
Had to contact @JeepCares They referred me to FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care because I'm Canadian (different company)
The second dealer (old story; not worth telling again) did...
