  1. Purchased Used- windshield leaking

I had a whistle after a brand new windshield install and of course all they do is take it off and put it back on again to fix that. I don't think you need a new windshield you just need it to be reinstalled which is, I think, at most Glass shops about an hour of work so not really a big deal. (...

Hauled some rough lumber to make some scaffolding to work on the Airstream I'll be towing one day. '22 Willys eco-diesel.

  4. Any experiences towing a 23' Airstream?

I towed a 23ft 1973 Safari with a 2022 eco-diesel Willys 1280km (800miles) over the Crowsnest Pass (4,455ft) in the Canadian Rockies. The trailer weighed in at 1790kg (3950lbs) at the time according to a roadside scale. I did struggle up the west side at one point but I might attribute that to...
  5. Winter rescues of stranded drivers...

I've helped multiple people out after snowstorms here. Last year, 3 vehicles in an 3 block distance. Only used recovery strap. I've used shackles to look around rear hitch mount successfully. And yes, I asked one guy to hook it up himself if he was interested in my help. Worked out fine - all on...
  6. Need advice on roll-up or tri-fold tonneau cover for Gladiator

My '22 Willys came with a trifold and I like the security and protection from the elements of it especially when I am working out of it with video gear. the few times I've needed the full bed I simply pull it off and set it aside - 2 minutes to take it off and maybe 5 to put it back on. Easily...
  7. U-connect and/or Carplay update changes the blue arrow on Google maps to a pic of a small vehicle...?

if you change it on you phone, you see the options. Made mine a black truck that looks a little like my Glad.
  8. ISO Help finding method to 'pull' Rear Driver Panel out/away from Tailgate after accident.

A combination of ratchet strap and dead weight mallet and I ALMOST got it bent far enough - fingers got cold and I had to move on to other duties - but it was CLOSE!
  9. ISO Help finding method to 'pull' Rear Driver Panel out/away from Tailgate after accident.

I'm looking for info or advice on how I might 'pull' the driver rear exterior panel 'out' away from where it meets / aligns with the tailgate. The tailgate binds and is not able to open due to the rear panel being pushed into it after I was hit while parked. it's due in the body shop in 10 days...
  10. Temp Custom Taillight

Insurance quote from the body shop lists a new drivers rear panel and other repair. approx $5,500 CAD (4,000USD) problem is, it's not scheduled to get in the shop until Dec 16 ( another 10 days ahead) and in the meantime, I can't open my tailgate. I asked the body shop if they could bend the...
  11. Temp Custom Taillight

I will try to remember to respond here after seeing the quote / estimate to repair.
  12. Temp Custom Taillight

after being hit while parked, I needed to figure out a quick way to make my '22 Willys legal while waiting for insurance claim and autobody shop / parts. I wonder if I should post a 'How-To' in case anyone wants to add that rugged, custom look on theirs?

  14. 3d Printed WWII Jeep

Maybe they could make the CAD file available ;-) Could be neat printing out a 1/16th HO scale version or something
  15. Disable Start / Stop

Pic from Manual shows high temp is one of many reasons A.S.S. will NOT engage to protect engine, battery, comfort etc
  16. Disable Start / Stop

I suspect, just as Auto/S/S is disabled when cabin temp is not achieved or other factors, I suspect it would also avoid shut down when the temps are high as you mentioned.
  17. Disable Start / Stop

I'm personally baffled by people's obsession with auto start stop. On occasion I've turned it off but it has NEVER bothered me. 5% fuel saving - why not.

  20. Show and Tell:Ecodiesel maximum towing capabilities

Towed my new (to me) 1973 Safari Airstream through some pretty steep mountain passes last week. ( Penticton BC to Saskatoon Saskatchewan through the Crowsnest Pass) I encountered a couple instances of limp mode due to "Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control A Module Performance DTC code...
