For that sort of weight a weight distributing hitch would really be appropriate, and should level everything out.
I can't imagine the Pentastar 3.6L V6 tugging 6,000 lb very well. I did around 3,500 lb on a JK and it was okay but not great. The spring problem can be solved with the WD hitch but...
I'm in New England with plenty snow and wind and my initial build was dual tops (had dual tops before on the JK and loved them) but when it came time to order the JT, went with only the 3-piece black hard top. I'm getting too old for top swapping; love the hard glass rear sliding window; love...
Ordered 10/18, arrived today 12/11. Pic before prep at the dealer. Took it home tonight
Looks great in the dark and can't wait to see it in daylight.
Beautiful. And don't think we didn't notice that stubby antenna.
YES! I've had WeatherTechs on previous vehicles and they work so well I ordered them for my inbount JT.
Fronts and rears available in both tan and black.
They aren't as cool looking as thick as the Mopar ones with the tire tread design, but those were also awfully heavy and unweildly when you...
This looks so good!! When you get a chance I'd love to see a pic of the side profile (not angled), from farther back - the camera distortion will be minimized that way and we can get a better sense of the proportions with lift and 35s.
As long as you're not planning to back out, overall price paid is way more important than deposit amount (assuming you have the cash for the deposit).
And, if you're financing, a higher deposit will mean you're financing less money which works in your favor.
$5K is ridiculously high and greedy...
The Velvet Elvis! It's a classic! I totally forgot about those until you mentioned it. In the college days used to see them being sold on every corner in Nashville.
As far as styling goes I prefer the look of the halogen lenses. As for light output, based on the ones I've seen passing me at night, the LEDs are better. If you've got the money, go for it. If not, I doubt you'll be disappointed with the halogens.
Help me out with those bolt patterns. There's a 6-bolt circle but the jeep isn't a six lugger. There's an 8-bolt circle inside it but the jeep isn't an eight lugger, nor is it a 4 lugger if you use every other hole.
How do these mount to the 5-bolt pattern on the Jeep?
Comparing % below MSRP (or invoice) is great if buying outright (no trade). But if introducing a trade, it gets muddly. They can say you're getting 7% below invoice on the new rig while making up for that by giving you less on the trade-in (whose value is much more subjective than a new rig).
I towed a 3,300 lb camper with a JK Rubicon (same motor, 3.6L V6 Pentastar). It gets by but it ain't great. And that was with a weight distributing hitch and brake controller.
You should be okay getting it home as long as (like @giskard says) you keep plenty space in front of you and allow for...
I second that for Foss. I'm in Maine but have bought from Foss in NH since around 2003/2004. I've shopped and bought from a couple other dealers since then, but for the most part it's always been Foss. This time around, for the JT, during a couple weeks and a few rounds of negotiation, they were...
I agree this is a good layout - sleeping up top, partially over the cab, as long as it's not too claustrophobic. Kind of like a loft. No need for sleeping section to eat into the living area. Even with a 5 foot bed, I'm optimistic. There's a creative camping solution out there somewhere, even if...
Patience.... I ordered 10/18 and got build sheet 11/26. If our timings are similar, you might see build sheet tomorrow (12/4). If not then, probably not far off.
In the JK I mounted it at the bottom of the dash, below and to the right of the steering column, so that when my hand rested on my right knee, my fingers were positioned on the input switch.
This way if you need to apply manual brake input, you can do it immediately and without even taking your...
