Yes.
JT is based on JL which is based on JK etc.
Some say the final year of production is the best. That might be true in terms of bug fixes, but it's also when manufacturers have found all the ways to cheapen production and cut costs. First year of production might give you the highest...
The question is "preferred for what?"
AT will give you longer tread life, smoother ride, quieter ride.
MT will give you shorter tread life, more grip on mud and rough terrain. Maybe even in snow (
It's not just about your needs/application, but also your wants.
If your priority is function...
Mods are so tempting and they make your Jeep your own, but for those of us who are keeping it stock: for how long? and why? And what limitations have you run into vs. a modified Jeep?
Not a fan of stop-start. I'll be hitting the disable button every trip. I already do that with the Ram, putting the auto trans into "tow/haul" mode (to lower the shift point RPMs) as soon as I turn it on. It's as automatic as putting on the seat belt :D Easy peasy. I'm thankful it's an option...
Full size convert here, coming from a Ram 1500 regular cab, short bed, with the 5.7L hemi.
Had JK 2 and 4 doors before but in the end I'm a pickup guy.
I'll miss the power and torque of the 5.7L, but what converted me were the pros:
- fun factor
- easy-off freedom panels
- relatively easy-off...
Looks like it depends on the trim level. The jeep.com builder lets you configure a Sport S with a 5 inch radio, basic A/C controls and Alpine premium sound.
One thing to keep in mind is the Alpine (9 speakers plus 12-channel amp) may not run at its full potential when driven by a cheaper radio...
Off the lot: Dealer is often paying for a vehicle to be on the lot ("floor plan" or whatever they call it), so dealer has incentive to get rid of it (especially at end of month). The longer it sits, the more the dealer pays. You also get to see and feel the exact vehicle you might buy. It's like...
A few years ago I ran into a similar scenario with a custom order Ram. I didn't want to be forced into a couple options that were now mandatory (according to the dealer's order screen). If I remember correctly there was an option the dealer could check "already/previously ordered" and it would...
I'm in Maine and ran stock BFG M/T (I think they were KM2) on my JK, and they were great in 4WD in the snow. Better than the Dick Cepeks I ran before them, which were supposedly a hybrid AT/MT. So this time around I went with MT. If you can find something with sipes, even better. You probably...
I had these WeatherTech window deflectors on my JK and love them!
In-channel design is clean, looks better than outside of channel stick-ons. Nice to be able to leave your windows cracked in the summer to keep the interior cool but not worrying about a pop-up rain storm.
WeatherTech site says...
Me & wife bought her a hot item Honda mini van in 2001 about the time kiddos were born and paid sticker. She drove it for 14 years and it needed almost nothing the entire time, and we sold it for asking price when still running strong at 103k miles. Never again sticker price, but she deserved it.
I find it hilarious the California based sticker says "Protecting the Consumer" followed rather quickly by a $10,000 markUP and $thirteen thousand dollars for a simple wheels and lift upgrade.
Things like grief, mental health or PTSD are real and can really mess with you.
Don't let the timing fool you. If you bought the same rig five years ago, would you be feeling the same level of guilt?
The two events aren't related. Enjoy fond memories of your best friend, and do the same with...
4 to 5% under invoice sounds good. But other dealers aren't letting you test drive? Please elaborate. If a dealer says I can't test drive a rig I'm about to drop $50K on, I'd think it's time to walk.
