  1. So i got pulled over and thrown the book. apparently i need wide vehicle lights?

I’ll disagree with you on qualified immunity being the problem. Despite what the media puts out there QI is for bad decisions in gray areas. It does not and would not protect the officers from suit in my example above. The law is very well settled in that area. Better and more training is the...
  2. So i got pulled over and thrown the book. apparently i need wide vehicle lights?

I had this type issue come up with a TN deputy near Deals Gap (as a non-TN resident). The actual law was lost on him. Came very close to suing him, his supervisor (who also couldn’t understand the law) and the Sheriff.
  3. So i got pulled over and thrown the book. apparently i need wide vehicle lights?

Virginia SP have a notorious reputation of zero sense of humor.
  4. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

All doors now done. Next is the rear wall and floor like @caryt did, though I’m probably not going to be as good as he did. The rigid material that was already in the front door is interesting because it appears to be some kind of fiberglass composite. Very rigid. The monkeys who put it in...
  5. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

Started on the front doors today. Found MOPAR already put a sound deadener on the upper half of the skin above the brace. I tried to find a part number but could only locate a production date. I decided to go ahead and apply another layer there and do the rest of the door. Then I used the...
  6. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

 My tester sits in the passenger seat and she seems impressed with the improvement. That’s as scientific and measurable as I’m going to get.
  7. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

@starrskream - Take a look at the Coverking thread here. Huge improvement in looks and sound. I think you’ll like it a lot better than plastidip/ undercoating. Plus you won’t have the off-gassing of that stuff in the cab with you. Even the 3M spray adhesive had some odor to it, though it...
  8. Steel bumper for Gladiator Mojave?

Bought my Mojave used with 2k miles from a Jeep dealer in the area. The previous owner, or the dealer (perhaps both), installed a Rubicon bumper, a Warn winch, and skid on the Mojave (poorly I might add). I subsequently pulled it off, put the orange Mojave hooks on, and re-installed...
  9. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

Not really difficult other than maneuvering the inner skin out. And retrieving the socket I dropped while putting the glass back together. :headbang:
  10. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

My goal was to reduce the resonance on as many of the flat sheets as possible without trying to get every single piece covered. I tapped around on the door to find anything that sounded ā€˜tinny’. I also put some on the inner liner plastic in a couple of the large flat areas. On the passenger...
  11. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

I created a couple templates out of rosin paper to get the fit right for the pieces to go in. Had to trim and fit a few times to get it close to right. The bone color plastic is a guide for the window. It is held in with two torx screws. Removing it helped to get the inner liner out of the...
  12. Making a quieter truck, where to start?

This is the passenger side rear door inner skin. What is the ā€œProFighter Mojaveā€? This is the driver’s side rear door inner skin. Kind of a pain to maneuver out to this point. This is the inside of the door. Lots of bare flat open sheetmetal to act like a drum. The blue thing is a...
  13. AEV 2" Spacer Lift

I’ve learned from pain that I don’t have the finesse with an impact to be precise like that. I have friends who do because they do it every day. My ham handed self has snapped too many things in half or, worse, stripped them. Wrench is slower on the front end but I don’t have the back end time...
  14. AEV 2" Spacer Lift

You do you but I’d be reluctant to use the impact to tighten. Really easy to snap things unexpectedly …:(
  15. Theft Prevention/Key Fob Hack PSA. . .

Two unusual but large and effective choices (assuming the 10 has full house rounds). Well done sir.
  16. Drop Hitch Recommendations

This is a Reese w fixed bolt on pintel / ball hitch. It works great. Even for towing. I normally keep it upside down to avoid scraping it in inclines.
  17. Coverking Topliner - Review & Install

Finally got around to doing the back half of the installation. It was quite awkward trying to get everything ready to install using the spray adhesive. I taped the top and dry fit the headliner several times. The headliner needed some trimming around the plastic cover for the rear defrost...
  18. Rodent Ate My Battery

    I prefer 5.56. :CWL:
