There is absolutely not basis for that. I would bet that a properly tuned engine would last longer on E85 than gasoline.

Yes and no... E85 doesnt require more than a tune, but it might. It needs more fuel per air to achieve the correct mixture, so in crazy builds, you are going to run out of injectors and fuel pump very soon. However, it lends itself really well to super high static compression paired with boost...

Exactly! We were super excited to get ours, had a bunch of plans, etc..was a big let down. I just couldnt believe it was such a dog and got 14mpg. I wanted to take it back on week 2. I had a 6.2 Silverado at the time and that was getting 22. Toyota has really dropped the ball in my opinion.
