Not thickness. Diameter.
That's the size of the ring gear.
Kind of like the Ford 9", or the 8.8"
The front diameter is slightly smaller. Still better than a Dana 30.
Not exactly.
Having a crawl gear avialable in 2H or 4H is a lot more convenient than switching the transfer case from H to L.
You can still go to L and having the crawl gear on top of everything else.
Once you start drilling, you are committed to drilling it out.
If there is any way to get a bite on it, I would try other methods first.
You might consider stopping by an auto body shop or a friendly dealer.
They have the hammer impacts because they use them to take off doors on regular cars...
The other way you can check for sure, is to put a jack under the differential and jack it up.
With the transmission in neutral, rotate one wheel.
If the other wheel spins in the same direction, you have the track lok. If it spins the other differential, then you have an open diff.
Try hitting the bolt with a drift punch and see if you can get a torch on it without burning the paint.
It's probably paint that's keeping it 'stuck'.
Why they use a torx there is beyond me..
Really, you need that hammer impact wrench, I forgot what it's called
From my understanding the doc fee is not a 'game'.
If they charge the doc fee, they have to charge it on all deals.
Not sure what vtr is but it sounds like an aftermarket option of some type, which would make it an optional product, meaning that you could take it off.
I will definitely never deal with Larry Miller again.
my first interaction was over emails a bunch of times and I was pricing out a Sport S.
When I went to pick it up, it was a regular sport.
It as a total shit show. I got so pissed I just left.
I contacted their other dealership on Havana...
Thanks for your feedback and replies!
I wish they had a powertop for the JT like they do for the Wrangler.
I really feel like Jeep missed the boat with the hard top here....
instead of the 3 piece, they should have made it a 4 piece or even 5 piece..
1 that goes over both front seats
2 that...
I totally get what you're saying.
I'm just seeing lots of faults in the design of a lot of the kits out there.
I have built and set up many race cars and suspension dynamics are very important to me.
The only engineer I have talked to in the past that has shared my ideas on suspension dynamics...
Good to know.
I will probably end up piece mealing mine together since there are certain things I like about each kit, but to start with I'll probably just do a spacer to evaluate the ride height and decide if I like 2" or go higher like a 3.5"
