So I got it installed. Just need some covers for the connections, as I have it covered with electrical tape and it looks crappy. Looking at some of the pictures, I guess I really didn't expect that much room above the battery and I over thought it (again). I ended up using a hinge to mount it...
Looking at your first picture, what I have won't fit into that space. But maybe the answer is something other than a cheap Amazon one.
Thank you for the pictures.
I've got a 500 amp solenoid for my winch. I want to wire it in near the battery, but seem to be lacking room. Has anyone got a description/pictures of what they have done? I've been trying to figure out a nice install and am a bit stumped.
Thanks.
So, can now confirm they are different. Instead of cutting the skid plate that came with the steel bumper to fit around my tow plate, I had to cut off a bit of my old one and do a little adjustment with a BFH to get it to work with the steel bumper. It's on now and I have a skid plate for sale.
Ummm. I think so. It looks to be the same.
I just bought a steel bumper to replace my plastic one, but my steel skid plate is already cut up to fit a tow bar setup. Looking at videos about the install, I don't see anything that would be different.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but have started collecting parts to put 12V in the bed of my truck to run a compressor.
Have a Bulldog 150 PSI that looks to draw up to 50 amp.
Have a 175A Anderson plug. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0CYZG7B68?ie=UTF8&th=1
Have a 60 A breaker...
Well, Lordco sold me a Warn Evo 12S for about $100 more than the Bulldog, so I guess I'll never know.
Couple more things to get and then on to the install.
Oooh.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. KMS tools seems to be blowing these out at $760 Cdn, but the synthetic ones are gone. I really want synthetic, otherwise I'd be all over this. Guessing a synth line will be more the $160.
Thanks.
Have one in my cart, just going to see if I can buy local first.
Have a brilliant idea to run a second set of wires off of it to the bed and put a plug in for an air compressor. Won't need 500 amps for it, but would save me a switch and not have that lead powered at all times as well...
Looking for a winch and can get a Bulldog 12K for about a third less than a Warn winch, in Canada so no Badlands up here. I'm inclined to go this route, but haven't found a lot of reviews. E-trailer page seems positive, but not sure if it is all for the winches.
Going with their mounting plate...
So, I am in the market for a winch, but still weighing what I want. But I do have an isolator in my cart.

I am thinking of this vs. a switch under the hood. Plan is to wire it to something inside (I don't have Aux switches).
Found a used 3 piece steel and jumped on it. Good (not great) price and will still need the winch plate, but will be an easier install than anything else.
