  1. 3.6 Engine - Now I understand the power issue

My trailer only weighs 2360 lbs fully loaded for 3 weeks and the tongue weight is less than 50lbs. I can move the entire trailer in my garage alone, by hand, without assistance. I'm not making an unreasonable request. That's below the rated towing capacity. Our camping trips sometimes take us a...
  2. 3.6 Engine - Now I understand the power issue

That's fair, your necessities might not necessitate more power but I'm sure that you wouldn't mind having more also, right? More power and torque would satisfy a larger consumer base. Someone like me, who hated towing with the 3.6. Over 20 seconds to reach 60MPH makes merging an apologetic...
  3. 3.6 Engine - Now I understand the power issue

IMO power is relative to what is average for all vehicles on the road. The pentastar configuration in the Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator models seems behind the curve. I think in 2025, it's disappointing for a manufacturer to produce a modern engine with less than 300HP.
  4. 3.6 Engine - Now I understand the power issue

My other car is a 600 AWHP Audi S7 with a twin turbo v8, big turbo swapped and tuned. Once you have a car with some power, you really appreciate having the ability to assert yourself around bad drivers, or just merging and getting around traffic effortlessly. This car drives well above the...
  5. Which start stop eliminator is best?

Tazer has a lot of flexibility and options to enable/disable/change features in the car's computer. Does a lot more than just disabling auto start/stop which is why I went with it.
  6. JTR Crawler Build and Daily Driver

Yeah that's the conclusion I came to as well. Left me choosing between 37's and 40's, and since I plan to tow and maybe put a Tune M1 camper on top, 40's just seem like a poor choice. The less mature person deep inside keeps saying "go big or go home", though. lol
  7. JTR Crawler Build and Daily Driver

Maybe you don't mind it but I was surprised to learn that it's $500+ more for a set of 38's than it is for a set of 37's.. It's actually cheaper to go 40's than 38's.
  8. Do you like the stock 2025 Rubicon wheels?

My JTRD wheels rub with 35" tires. Once I get the lift sorted out, I'll be going with method bead grip wheels and 37 trail grapplers.
  9. Diesel - 4.56 Gears - 37 Inch Tires

That's correct, the JK 3.6 with a 5 speed automatic.
  10. Diesel - 4.56 Gears - 37 Inch Tires

Not only underpowered but it also runs hot. Climbing hills is a balancing act between speed/rpm and engine coolant temp... even on small hills. I did everything I could.. Mishimoto radiator, replaced thermostat multiple times, ... all the things. I even replaced the motor with a new one from...
  11. Diesel - 4.56 Gears - 37 Inch Tires

That's great news. I'm happy with the report because it sounds like exactly what I'll be dealing with. I could write an entire book of complaints about towing long distance with my 3.6 JKU.
  12. DEAL OF A LIFETIME: Cascadia CVT tents nearly 90% off

Looks like I was not lucky enough so i need to track down some cross bars or a platform for the awning to mount to... maybe just do some extruded aluminum if nothing else.
  13. EDIT: What'd I do [Banned Site] -> "Lay-a-wife" but Swap L and W?

Are you using a VPN? I've been blocked from registration (on different websites) because I'll register on my business computer which has a VPN turned on by default. Looking at your occupation, I'd guess that's the most likely reason.
  14. Rock Hard 4x4 - rusting skid bolts, very disappointed in customer service

Good info, thank you. I like their rear bumper but the front stubby bumpers don't have a recessed winch mounting platform. I want to keep as much of the grille open to airflow as possible and I prefer the stubby bumpers.
  15. Rock Hard 4x4 - rusting skid bolts, very disappointed in customer service

So is RH4x4 good to go, or are people avoiding them due to the finish problems? I was looking at their rear bumper because it wraps around the bed sides.
  16. Roof Top Tent on Cab Area Specficially

Nothing really, just standard stuff.. I keep my campsite clean, put high value things out of sight, and lock the cabinets. I put a locking pin in the trailer hitch so it can't be easily hooked up and towed away but if someone wants it bad enough, they'll take what they want. I operate on the...
  17. Warning lights after Katzkin install

My passenger seat is usually just a snack seat because my wife likes to sit in the back with my son who's still in a car seat. It just bugs me when things aren't symmetrical. lol I opted to not get the molle. Maybe I'll regret that in the future but in my last jeep, I liked to shove a...
  18. Warning lights after Katzkin install

Yeah alright, I just ordered a set for both front seats. I haven't done any long trips with the vehicle yet but on short trips, I already can tell that the flat seat position is a problem. I'm just stacking parts up to the ceiling in my office at the moment.. Trying to keep my promise to my...
  19. Warning lights after Katzkin install

How do you like the seat jacker? Just getting used to my JTRD and wishing I could raise the front of the seat without raising the back. Seat Jacker is just a little overpriced for what they are so I haven't tried them out yet.
