Towed well through the ice and snow of western Colorado and Utah! 2500 troublefree miles loaded with two mule deer hunters and all of our stuff for 10 days (and two bucks for the trip home!)
I am really happy with my Gladiator Rubicon. I am up to 22000+ miles and have been towing a 5400 lbs camp trailer quite a lot lately, all around the western states and the combo works fabulously for me.
I am towing a little more weight with a Rubicon and average 10.5-11 mpg. There is a pretty good thread with some mpg located here https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/towing-a-23-foot-trailer.31768/page-2#post-517752
I have had great service and parts over the years from https://www.wfoconcepts.com/
They recently did a complete makeover of a Gladiator, which came out amazing! There is a pretty good build video on YouTube.
I have a Rubicon with the tow package and have added airlift airbags. Using a Husky weight distribution hitch I recently towed my 21RD Outdoors RV trailer from the San Francisco Bay Area to Boise, Idaho and back, 1600 miles and averaged 10.2 mpg for the entire trip. GVW was 12220 Lbs. with all...
We were finally able to get away for a bit with the Jeep and trailer (picture and description of combo in earlier post). Combined gvw was 12220 Lbs. with all hands aboard and rolling down the road. From the San Francisco Bay Area to Boise, Idaho and back (1600 miles total, mostly towing)...
I just installed mine a few days ago and the locker activation in 2 hi seemed inconsistent. Now it works, but will not lock or unlock over 20mph, which is what it is claimed.
My issue with the auto stop is that previous to owning this Gladiator whenever my engine shut off at a stop sign it was time to get out and push! I had several of those cars and trucks in my teens, haha. Now when my Jeep shuts off my heart sinks momentarily until I recognize that I forgot to...
I pulled The hood sensor closest to the fender out of the bracket and zip tied it to some other wires out of the way. That disabled the auto stop but I do get an Air near my fuel gauge now, but unobtrusive and worth the improvement.
