Well yes it's not a Rubicon but neither is the sport. You said that the overland is not as capable as the sport which it is. Payload is based on the options added for the most part as people are finding out when their jeeps are delivered and they look at the sticker on the door. The overland...
The sidesteps would not be a benefit for off-road as said above. The overland is just as capable as a Sport S as it's the same truck with the heavy duty brakes of the max tow/Rubicon. All it is sport with more options. Also the only way to get a limited slip at the moment on a manual is with...
I had my first experience with the LEDs in snow last night and they are horrible. The glare on the snow causing the tunnel effect is downright dangerous but. I think it's mainly caused by the snow buildup on the lens. May try to rig up a wash system or heaters.
I believe they all have the same skid plates. At least the Rubicon and overland do as I went under and checked. The auto transmission has an extra plate for the transmission.
The bag is pretty well padded and there is a divider between the panels. I live in the north east and the roads are no better here. My tops are fine in the bag in the bed. They fit pretty tightly between the wheel wells so moment is limited.
I know it's not New England but I was able to get 4% under invoice at Bengal Jeep in Kingston NY. They were the only ones near me willing to negotiate.
If you all wanted a peek at Gator you should've checked out the rear seat latches on every other gladiator. It seams we all get a little Gator in our trucks.
It definitely is the gearing, reverse is way to tall. Should not have to use 4 low to reverse out of my driveway. Not an issue with any other manuals we've owned in the past. Enjoy the auto, sure wish I went with one.
Well do a search on the JL forum and you'll find a few threads like this about reverse. Wish I had researched it more before I decided to go manual. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/reversing-up-hill-and-clutch-smell-6-speed.6776/
The gearing in 4L is no better then the JK which had an actual 3rd and 4th gear unlike the JT which combines the two. The extra OD gear (6th) is of little use in in 4L as it's about the same as 5th. The only reason it is geared as it is is for MPGs. Going forward up a hilly driveway is no...
The gearing of this transmission sucks. It's clearly geared for getting the best MPG on the EPA circuit. No one is expecting high performance "wow" out of Jeep truck. I do expect it to do 30 MPH uphill in third gear and maintain speed, it can't. I expect it to be able to back out of my...
Interesting, the overland has the wide axles? Does that mean an overland with the standard tow package is essentially a "max tow" minus the 4.1 gear but anti spin availability.
No that would be dumb to take the huge financial hit. Tried to pawn it off on the wife but there is no way she's going to deal with backing it out of our driveway. Does fine with her manual Golf R can't even get the Gladiator out to the road without stalling two times. Tried with brake assist...
I'm the same way. I've only ever owned manuals with the exception of my previous RAM. I have two other manuals in my stable at the moment and I get almost no joy from the manual in the Glad. It bogs on hills in third gear at 30 MPH. Who the hell wants to drive around in second gear with the...
This is spot on but it's not really any better with the Rubicon 4.1 gears and you can't get a manual with the max tow. The gearing on this thing is all wrong. If I could afford to take a hit I'd trade my manual for and auto I'd do it for sure. As much as I love rowing my own gears this thing...
