Yes, I had a local muffler shop do the entire thing. It's a straight pipe after the cat (with the J-pipe) and branches out to dual pipes about where the muffler used to be, roughly in front of the rear axel if I'm picturing it right from memory. The dual pipes come straight out under the rear...
I beg to differ. It doesn’t sound like my Challenger Scat Pack, but it does sound good.
I started with a stock exhaust. I had both resonators and the muffler removed. Then, I had dual straight pipes with black rolled tips added. Finally, I had the J-pipe installed to kill most of the drone.
I had the J-pipe added this morning, and that eliminated a huge amount of the drone. In my opinion, it sounds better than any Flowmaster setup I've heard for the V6, and it's louder, too. I'm very happy with it. I'll post some pictures and audio in my build thread when I get the chance.
I'm hoping someone has some firsthand experience with that, specifically with the Pentastar. That would go a long way in helping me decide which option to go with.
Yesterday, I had both resonators and the muffler removed and added dual straight pipes with some nice rolled-edge tips under the back bumper. My plan was to try this out for a week, and if it was too much, add a Dynomax Bullet where the front resonator used to be. I don't mind the sound level...
I do like the Mojave hood a lot. It's basically what I'm looking for, but I'd like the scoop to be a little taller.
I'm still hunting, but that may be what I end up going with. I also thought this one looks pretty good. It's close to being over-aggressive but a similar look.
I have the basic hood on my Gladiator and am leaning toward getting something different. After doing some searching, the custom hoods online are as wild and varied as the angry grille faces. I'm looking for something more simple like a basic cowl hood or maybe a large scoop—something that gives...
The second tech heard the sound as well. After shaking everything down to check for anything loose, he noticed there were a lot of rocks stuck in the tires (thanks, mud terrains). He took some of them out and also found a "large metal object" stuck in one of the treads. I'm not sure what it is...
It does already make a lot of what I consider normal noises. This just came out of nowhere, and to me, sounds like something that needs to be addressed. If nothing else, I have new tires, wheels, and leveling spacers going on next week. Maybe that'll make a difference.
Yeah lol the mud terrains drown it out on the YouTube video unless you put your ear next to the speaker. It's a lot more noticeable on the original video on my phone. I actually rain it through AI, and it said it sounds most like loose ball joints.
I feel like "normal Jeep noise" is just an...
The dealership has had my truck for four days. The first tech said he hears it. He can't pinpoint the sound, and it's "a normal Jeep noise." They're having a second tech look at it today. I have a feeling they're going to try and bill me despite the warranty.
Yesterday, I noticed this clicking/ticking noise coming from under either the back seat or bed. It occurs only when in motion and speeds up in frequency as I go faster. There's no noticeable change if I hit bumps. Has anyone heard this before? I only have 5,500 miles on the truck so far. I have...
I had considered those. They look good, but they're really more like 34s. If there weren't so many options at 35x11.50, I probably would've ordered the Bajas already.
That looks amazing, but the more I look into it, the more I don't think I can do that with 37s and the stock wheels. I think...
The only off-roading I'll be doing is in mud or on flat trails. I shouldn't be doing anything that will scuff up the wheels or tires.
I didn't realize it before, but Toyo has a 35x10.50R17 tire. I'll have to consider that one, too. The dealer actually packaged my High Tide with mud terrains...
Thanks for the feedback. I pivoted on the leveling kit and went with 1.5" Daystar pucks. I came across a video on YouTube of the truck below, and that stance is exactly what I'm looking for. It's almost perfectly level with just a hint of rake, and the wheels fill up the fender wells a little...
Thanks for the tip on the rear spacer. I wonder if a 3.5" kit would work out better.
I'm hoping the 11.5" width would keep me away from wheel spacers. I'm still researching that.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
I have a 2025 High Tide (mainly Sport specs) and have been looking at what I can do with the stock 17x7.5 wheels. I like them, but they don't give you a ton of options with the 12.50 tire width being out of spec. I'll be adding a leveling kit—leaning toward the Rough...
Does anyone know a shop in the southeast or Texas that can custom fab this (minus the spare mount)? FORTEC was never able to put these into production. I'm having a tough time finding a shop that can work with 3" tubing for these.
