  1. Heading to the Canadian Auto Show — any tips to make the most of it?

We’re heading to the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto tomorrow and it’ll be our first time attending. For anyone who’s been before — any tips to make the most of it? Best times to walk the floor, must-see sections, stuff that’s easy to miss, or things you wish you’d known your first...
  2. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

That’s interesting — especially that it kept starting in the same spot every time. Bottom passenger side seems to be a common origin point, and once they start there they tend to bloom fast like you described. 2 months after a new purchase is really crappy though. Keeping our wipers crossed...
  3. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Oof, that hurts. Especially after years of it holding up. Gorilla Glass or not, once it’s heavily pitted it feels like it’s just waiting for the right conditions. Cold nights in Breckenridge don’t help either. Brutal surprise to start the morning.
  4. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

That’s so frustrating! Especially when you don’t get much support on it. Totally get riding it out for now. Whenever you do replace it, you might want to look into windshield protection film. A lot of Jeep owners add it to help cut down on repeat chips and cracks.
  5. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Love it! Simple and effective! Keeping the blades from freezing down is a big bonus too. Parking near a wind block is also smart and would definitely help. Sometimes the low-tech solutions are the best ones. Have you noticed a difference in how often small chips spread since you started doing that?
  6. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Ah dang! Yet another reason to call it the winter blues 😢
  7. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Ah man, that’s brutal! Nothing worse than hopping in and seeing a crack that wasn’t there 30 minutes earlier. Sun + temp swings can be brutal on glass. Did you end up replacing it right away or you still riding with the crack?
  8. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

That’s actually kind of funny when you put it that way šŸ˜… Go 50 years no issues… then start driving bricks and suddenly you’re on a first-name basis with the glass shop. The upright windshield definitely changes the game. Great visibility, great vibes… not so great for windshields. Kind of a...
  9. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Thanks, that sounds like a solid tip šŸ‘ Keeping frost and ice off helps more than people realize, and anything that slows down that initial temp shock on the glass is a win. Even a little insulation beats scraping frozen glass and then blasting heat on it. Thinking something similar would be a...
  10. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Oh man that's rough... So tempting to crank up the deforst especially when it's cold. That instant heat on cold glass will do it, especially if there’s already a crack starting near the edge. Once it runs, it runs fast. Hopefully Florida temps at least keep it from spreading any more. Safe...
  11. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

šŸ˜‚ ā€œStrong and durableā€ until it isn’t. Seems like when they go, they really go. Did it start from a chip or just randomly show up one day?
  12. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Snowboard goggles might honestly be the move at this point šŸ˜‚ But yeah, driving a brick definitely doesn’t help. Once you’re upright like that, the glass just takes everything head-on. Interesting you mentioned Gorilla Glass — We've been hearing similar things, fewer cracks, but it still gets...
  13. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Yeah, that tracks. Doesn’t always need cold or a rock hit. Sometimes once there’s a weak spot, even normal use is enough for it to crack. And sadly always happens when you least expect it.
  14. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

ohhh no! Those ā€œpark it and come back to a crackā€ ones are the worst! I’ve noticed those U-shaped cracks tend to show up when it’s cold and sometimes there was already some pitting you couldn’t even see. Was it freezing temperatures outside when that happened?
  15. Anyone ever wake up to a new windshield crack?

Anyone else ever walk out to their Jeep and find a new crack that definitely wasn’t there the day before? Some cracks don’t come from a new rock hit. They start from: Old micro-pits you can barely see Cold overnight temps Then heat + vibration from driving or hitting the trail That’s why so...

  20. Windshield Defense

ExoShield here, sorry to hear that your first install didn’t go well. DIY windshield protection film can be tricky to install the first time. That hazy or ā€œsoapyā€ look usually means a bit of solution or moisture got trapped under the film before it fully cured, or you might have used a bit too...
