Looking to go down this path again. First effort did not go well. Looking to see if other members have applied this windshield protection and share any tips and tricks.

First application did not come out clear. Looked like soap residue dried on the filum making it look like a very dirty windshield.

Cheers

ExoShield here, sorry to hear that your first install didn’t go well. DIY windshield protection film can be tricky to install the first time.

That hazy or “soapy” look usually means a bit of solution or moisture got trapped under the film before it fully cured, or you might have used a bit too much soap in your mixture. Happy to share what’s worked for folks using ExoShield ULTRA if you want some extra pointers.

Too Much soap? following the video you can't use too much solution.... the same solution that comes with the kit......

Tricky to install, how so? Use supplied solution on a clean dry windshield, apply solution on the film, use supplied squeegee and firm pressure down the middle (top to bottom) and side to side.... then work all the solution out from under the film....

temps and humidity were within spec.

Used the SAME process the second time and all went well.

Following the video is the key here! Some people speed through the installation video and miss key info like how many drops of the soap to add in your slip solution.

We do also offer our kits without tools, thanks for letting us know you had access to the toolkit.

The install can be tricky when it comes to handling the film, and removing the moisture from behind the film during the squeegee step.

Glad to hear the second time went well! If you have any comments on how we can improve the experience, we're always open to hearing from our users.

Mine took almost two weeks to really clear up. I watched the video a few times before jumping into the install.
Took one hit so far and no sign of damage (medium hit so no damage really expected).

The solution was provided by the manufacturer..

My kit had no solution or squeegee. So I used dish soap and bought a squeegee from the jungle site.
