I meant to put a question mark after that, as if to ask if I should patent, but honestly I could care less I just want my windshield to be safe, I have zero desire to do the work for that. Funny story, my dad in the early 80's showed me this invention he came up with, he was a carpenter, he...
yes velcro made by 3m so it has a sticky side but im realizing i didnt need to use such big pieces of velcro because the wind alone pushes the shield towards the windshield and it would be even better if i cut those pieces smaller. I spent $25
I never replaced this windshield because I made this shield in advance knowing how risky the oil field is especially since my camaro has had multiple cracks out here and many years ago my other two rubicons seemed to attract rock chips with that steep angle windshield. I did discover another...
I actually use the wipers with no issue. Yes the sticky 3m velcro is being used, I thought of the suction cup but it puts too much distance/gap between shield and window, less gap equals less movement. I was trying to come as close as possible to a phone screen protector. Im sure a better way...
My very first mod was this custom rock chip guard, it has saved my windshield many times so far especially here in the oil field with all the tractor trailers driving offroad here. I tried a variety of materials, plexi glass was too blurry so i found a thinner plastic and mount it with velcro...
Having fun with my build. Skyjacker 4.5 inch, cooper 40x13.50 stock rubicon axles with 4.10 factory gears feel great, no breakage yet, terrain taken thus far surpasses any stock Rubicon but I avoid heavy throttle and avoid getting tires lodged into rocks. Plans to purchase spare rear axle shafts...
Drove straight from dealer to have my 40's put on which had been purchased prior to the Jeep, was waiting for the Lift kit via UPS and it arrived later than tires did so what the hell I did what we all would do right? lol at least for two days, lots of 3 point turns but managed to drive it
No worries man, cliff notes...well
1. Skyjacker 4.5 inch lift, 3 inch rear spring and 4.5 front, normally $1,150, I paid about $900 because I opted out of the cheap shocks
2. Stock axles and gears stock 4.10... working great thus far with no plans to regear, this Jeep hauls A$$ faster than it...
