Yeah, I was completely off of my right foot for a month, then started rehab that was basically just rotating the ankle around for a month while seated, then 3rd month was a rocker boot with a huge heel lift and crutches. 4th month was less of a lift and no crutches, 5th month was just the boot...
In that case, I would definitely do the 4.88 now, or even consider the 5.13, unless you do a lot of daily driving on the highway. If its rare for you to go over 65mph, 5.13. With the 5.13 and even just the 35s, you'll be at a reasonable RPM up to about 65 MPH, but the torque will be far better...
Cool idea for a thread, thanks for sharing your hits and misses.
If I had to start over, I would have put on some of the exterior protection right away instead of waiting. I had a broken windshield almost right away and wish I had put on my grab gard windshield film kit right off the lot. Also...
Wow, good luck with the recovery on the achilles. I had mine surgically repaired, completely removed from the heel, the heel abraded to create a new spot for it to attach, and then reattached with an anchor. It was a really long recovery, but it was worth it.
My deductible is $500, so it made sense for me. Also assuming my jt would have broken windows at the same rate as my old JK, it should get about 3 times as long from the film as I used to get from a windshield. So even if my deductible was $100, the film should be cheaper for me.
That's the...
Glad they warrantied your windshield!
I got tired of broken windshields, so I put a film onto mine, it was a lot cheaper than my $500 deductible. I'm using this film: https://www.grab-gard.com/products/jeep-wrangler-windshield?variant=39530579525714
Off road you'll definitely find the 17 handling better. On road, the 20s likely will handle noticeably better. But that's an oversimplification, it depends a bit on the specific wheel. But all else being the same, that generalization will be accurate.
Safelite near me has both OEM and aftermarket, but you need to tell them ahead of time you want OEM, and it might make you end up waiting. Then you have to double check they're putting in the OEM.
I'm particular about having the OEM window, so I put a windshield film kit from grab-gard.com onto...
Most vehicles don't hold their value. The past few years have been a bit strange due to chip shortages and other supply chain issues, so it seems like some cars were holding or even increasing in value. But that's the exception, not the norm.
I don't know. You'd have to ask the company selling it, I guess. A couple wrangler guys in my club swear by it, they say they've gone from about 2 windshields a year to no more broken windshields. But I've only had it a few months, so it's just anecdotes from a few people in my club, plus some...
