Based on a few other threads, some people are pondering the difficulty level of installing and/or uninstalling a Mopar soft top with a bed cap in place.
Yesterday I gave it a whirl myself.
I think it is pretty safe to say that the rear window of the soft top is the primary area of concern...
Has anyone found a mesh insert that works well with these? I realize Body Armor 4x4 doesn't have a direct product, but based on the doors opening, there's probably one that's pretty close.
Any thoughts on the Fortis Door mesh?
Has anyone tried them?
I have a Harken Hoist that I bought for my Wrangler hardtop a while back. It seems work fine to lift & hold, then I add separate straps as independent redundant support... because we have to park under them.
I should probably include that I have been storing it, on the rare occasion when it's removed, by putting lumber under it... which is getting old.
Not using the lumber will remove a handful of headaches.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone in here hanging their Alu-Cab Explorer Canopy from your garage/shop ceiling using the rooftop rails?
Weighing in at just under 130lbs (w no accessories) those roof rails should be able to handle it. Right?
(Pics for attention)
Get the twill. It will match your Mopar tonneau cover nicely, if you have one.
Or look acceptable with your Alu-Cab, if you have one of those too. Ooops!
I concur with what firemedic2714 said and I was lucky enough to score one myselft a couple weeks ago.
I could be wrong, but your only choices at this moment in time (April 27, 2023) are three.
1. Mopar Twill
2. Mopar Sailcloth
3. Rampage Trailview
I am confused do you mean the back window or back door surrounds?
If you're talking about door surrounds it looks to me like the Gladiator door surrounds are the same as the Wrangler door surrounds.
I know the doors are the same for both vehicles...
With that in mind you should be able to...
I don't like red, because of a college team sports thing, but after a few weeks I didn't even notice the red dash (and other trim) anymore. Probably because I know red trim is synonymous with Rubicon models... and I really wanted/needed the Rubicon features for my off-roading activities.
THIS IS AWESOME!
No way I would have thought of this myself. I am totally going to mimic this design for my Alu-Cab.
Best part is I'll be able to push it back into an alcove of my garage where the stud walls are pretty close (left & right), thus way less stress on my long span ceiling joists...
Yes. It is a very simple one ply vinyl boot. Pretty sure it's oem... A few years ago my wife bought a JKU with the "dual top group". The soft top came wrapped in one of these also.
It is a very elemental, no frills, probably just meant for shipping & storage... I only used it to keep the top...
