I'm sure it will work fine without the seal but I would actually prefer them to make it work because again it would seal up well with a snorkel that way. I wonder if a small cage would give it enough rigidity not to suck in like that.

I think they do a bunch of similar builds at one go. Ordered my JTRD on 7/12 with GG, Aux switches, Cold wx, and forward cam. Today Jeep chat told me the same thing. As of 8/20 all parts collected, waiting in line. Daniel in Grupton told me my estimate build completion was 8/31.

yea that looks no good at all. On the plus side, if they can solve that issue it looks like it wouldn't be difficult to make a working snorkel with that setup. It may slightly block some visibility and would require a little hood cutting but definitely doable.
Funny my local Ace has class 10.9 bolts. Perhaps take it down a notch.
On side note when my JLRD gets in at the end of the month, it looks like I'll have to be going over it on my own ensuring everything is nice and tight and torqued correctly. Very sad you have to do this on a 50k truck...
Bumping this thread up because I'm looking at the same winch. Has 9.5k been powerful enough for you? I don't want to go 12k because I'm sure it's larger and will be difficult fitting in my Arcus bumper. I like this winch because of the ability to relocate the solenoid box which is great...
This has to be the BIGGEST fanboy statement I've seen. It is NOT ok that these diesel are derating empty. It is NOT ok that they derate without warning. Jeep has a major lawsuit coming when someone gets killed due to this.

After living and working in India for 3 LONG years, I would never even touch something Indian built with a 10 foot pole.
Mahindra had plans to export their small diesel trucks as well to the states. They didn't even come close to passing any safety requirement and that was the end of that.
What about the JTs that are derating pulling 1500 lb trailers or hell those who are derating not putting anything at all. There is definitely a problem here.
