Not sure on power but it is about a 3 degree drip in timing and about 100g/sec on airflow. This is pretty solid at this point I just had a guy pull a trailer that may have been in half ton territory and the tube dialed everything back no issue. Now if we could just dial in throttle response on...
Aluminum has a finite fatigue cycle. No as to if the trailer was designed with that finite fatigue strength in mind or to whatever is the norm for dimensional grade structural aluminum is debatable. Putting a focused load using infinitely cycleable materials into an aluminum structure that is...
It is an H&H trailer, all aluminum. That is a weigh distributing hitch for 1200lbs. It is a recurve R3. I bolted the plates directly to the trailer with large 1/2" backing plates to the deck. This is me basically doing my own engineering. It is my investment and I firmly believe in what I know...
If your fighting low RPM knock, it most likely needs to do a cam and crank sync. This is available in the HP scanner software. Sometimes you have to request it though, as it is not activated for all operating systems initially
Going in through the fender does not give you stellar access either. On machines with extended fenders you either have to pop the rivets or remove the whole fender. Then your left the the aux battery hanging from the wires.
I thing your on point Papa. The only argument you could counter with, is with the SC installed you are spending more time at low lift and it may prolong any self correction that may happen with higher duty cycle, or the wear is faster as the stuck rocker is riding the cam at low lift, longer...
Everyone always asks me why I buy new, cause I never take it in for warranty work. I don't have it out for dealerships, infact I like hanging out there. The fact of the matter is, these problems are usually complex and have escaped engineering. Now people expect 120% burdened technician with...
I think your on the right track. My guess is the phaser collected metal and is not moving well. Should be a relatively straight forward swap. Not that I like throwing parts at stuff, but may wanna swap the actuator first as it is easy to get to. Not sure if you could access the phaser through...
Yeah it shouldn't try to die when phasing back, if anything it should pickup rpm. Wonder if it is clogged with shavings. Also you did not put it near anything magnetic did you?
If I had to guess on that, you have an exhaust rocker not doing well. If you have the intake issues it sounds like a box of dominoes at about 2800 rom and goes away by 3400 rpm.
It really is not bad at all if you get the cam tools for the 3.6. There is a video on you tube that lays out the procedure excellently. Once you have the battery and fuse box out. It really become a part replacement mission no special settings or anything. I had mine all done on a Saturday...
