  1. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Yeah, this has just been a weird year so far, we have spent more money fixing and repairing and upgrading things, so anything over a couple hundred, at this point, makes me grumble a bit. Entire house remodel, tons of sewer line issues, having 2 trees taken down, hot water heater blew up...
  2. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Not what I said at all in the post. But allow me to summarize, for those who don't want to read 2 pages: "Hi, I'm a JTR owner, I have X amount of cash to spend on upgrades for Y amount of time. Does anyone have a preferred priority on which upgrades they like, if they had a little extra cash...
  3. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Welp.. pulled the trigger on the steel Mopar bumper, skid, and overrider.. as well as that warn winch plate on sale at quadratec.. and then ordered the evo 12k from Amazon... My wallet hurts so badly, and the wife was glaring at me so badly, I couldn't bring myself to order the lift yet. Will...
  4. where are you powering the winch?

Not to Necro an old post.. but what type of manual switch is that? I'd love to have a manual cutoff, instead of a solenoid. ~ Casp
  5. Poll: All 2021 Owners Please Vote Here: Has Your RR Axle Seal Leaked?

Approaching 10k on mine, but my 2021 JTR is also determined to apparently be right at the cutoff. Actually had the dealership do a once over of the entire vehicle at the first oil change, and the tech specifically mentioned they'd check the rear axle seals, since they got a notice to check them...
  6. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

LOL, closest place is other side of the state, no matter what direction I go ;) Naperville, IL (Up near Chicago) or Kansas City...with St Louis dead smack in the middle. Next closest is like Louisville, KY.. lol So.. Amazon will likely be the winner, here. Least if I have issues, I can...
  7. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Not to mention, you also saved me cash by pointing out the 12000lb evo for $900, vs $1500 for the 'Mopar' branded WARN, that only does 9k... :) ~ Casp
  8. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Great tips, thank you :) BTW, as much as the wife grumbled about it.. it appears I'll be doing everything at once, as it were.. lol... Winch, front bumper, and lift... The damage associated with my credit card may be a painful reminder for months to come.. *chuckling* ~ Casp
  9. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Excellent.. that's what I needed to know, thanks... means I can ignore the 'factory' ridiculously priced one :) Did you need the fairlead adapter for that one? ~ Casp
  10. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

?? That the same as the oem one?? If so.. that's a hell of a difference in price. https://www.bamwholesaleparts.com/search?search_str=82215182 EDIT: Hmm... doesn't look exactly the same... wonder what the major difference is. ~ Casp
  11. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Lol, that's actually partially why I don't mind the idea of spending the extra for the winch and such... Every time I help someone, they tend to slip me $50-$100, partially because most tow trucks charge extra to do offroad recovery. That said, it also balances out with the number of folks that...
  12. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

GMRS and portable pumps are already part of the kit, I don't consider them upgrades for the Jeep, solely, unless I hard install them... probably should have mentioned that, I guess. (Generally, anything I can just easily detach or take to another vehicle, is just a 'bag of gear' as it were, in...
  13. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

*Laughing* That's the thing, I rarely find myself 'getting stuck', but often find myself in the situation of getting others out of the predicaments they've gotten themselves into. (I attribute it more to that fact that I tend to consider the limitations and area quality, before doing anything...
  14. Opinions and thoughts on limited budget upgrade priority.

Alright.. so, I'm looking for opinions from folks on a few upgrades, and more importantly, their priority order, so if someone wants to weigh in, please do so. I went with the JTR, primarily, due to the fact there were a lot of upgrades that I didn't want to have to deal with, including lockers...
  15. Any Way to Reduce Wind Noise?

Yep. That said, pretty much ANY floor/tub liner vastly improves road noise, and/or sound quality inside the vehicle. I was a sponsored audio competition performer from 97 to 2011 for a handful of audio manufacturers, and every competition, you'd have many of us take questions from visitors...
  16. Any Way to Reduce Wind Noise?

Put my vote in for HotHeads, WITH their sound assassin strips.. night and day difference, imho. Plus, you can also get a full sound deadening liner for the JT.. I'm actually quite impressed with how easy it is to remove everything in order to do it. ~ Casp
  17. Factory Rolling Tonneau - Water Pooling?

Yeah... no leaking here, either (also got mine second hand... and it's remained dry inside) Just have had tents, over the years, that had the same issue... and it always resulted in a failure, at some point. Usually when I was inside it... *grin* I imagine the slight sledding of the vehicle...
  18. Factory Rolling Tonneau - Water Pooling?

Bumping this, myself. Have noticed it since installing the tonneau.
  19. Rubicon - Plastic bumper to Steel Bumper Conversion

Not to Necro an old post.. but has anyone successfully done this on a 2021? The official Mopar site claims this won't work with the 2021, but works with the 2020. Even asked my dealership, their response was that their system ALSO says it won't fit, but the mechanics can't find a reason why it...
  20. ThinSkinz® - Shields for Jeep Gladiator doors

I would also argue that something like this would be useful for when you're actually going doorless, and are hanging up (or laying down) your doors somewhere. Gives some protection to potential scratches, gouges, poked holes, while being stored. In my case, I don't have a garage, so when I take...
