What would be cool would be if they offered any of these platforms, with the exception of the Mojave and Rubicon as they are what they are, with option to equip with the Max tow option as well as all the other bells and whistles from, like, the Sahara package. The Sahara looks like it's pretty...
For tires I went with Hankook Dynapro AT2. Had them on my '08 GC Overland (Hemi) and saw no difference in fuel economy, and yes they were wider and taller (corrected speedo with a Tazer like thingy) than the previous tires which were the same as the stock size but a different brand.
Haven't...
That is the cabin temperature sensor. When it senses that the cabin is at the temperature setpoint, it will throttle back the heat input. It isn't the best at doing it's job...I get blasted by heat from the dash vents until the cabin reaches temp and it throttles back on the heat. Takes a while...
Flat tow is very easy. Just put your transfer case in neutral and flat tow all day. This is the method used by those with large motor homes here in the US when they flat tow their Jeeps behind it so that when they get to a camp ground, they still have a vehicle to get out and about with.
BUT...
Not much.
Baking for neighbors, they get a nice Christmas Stollen from me.
Christmas dinner, the Bride and I will invite an older friend over for dinner...roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, but otherwise, it's just me and the Bride.
New Year's eve, the neighbors will join us for an evening...
Well, you have a 7,000 l towing capacity on your Rubicon but, according to the Grand Design website for that particular trailer, it comes in at 6,395 lbs as is. By the time you get your stuff in it, you're coming close to your towing limit. I'd go for a lighter trailer.
My Vantage Sonic...
Got new sneakers for my baby...'20 Overland still had the factory Bridgestone Dueler HTs on her. They lasted for 43,7xx miles.
Got Hankook Dynapro AT2 tires in the 265/70/18 flavor (just one size wider than the factory 255s).
I've had these before on my '08 Grand Cherokee Overland (Hemi) and...
If your tow vehicle can handle the weight and braking for your combination, then why not just simply replace the reflectors in the rear bumper with functioning lights, and wire them like one would a simple utility trailer? Run the wires along the frame rail to the lights and make the connection...
When I ordered my Overland back in 5/19, I got cloth. I didn't like the look of the leather (and the price). Glad I did. It's not nearly as cold in the winter or hot in the summer.
When mine came in, the first thing I did was to empty 3 spray cans of Scotch Guard on the seats. Still holding up...
Well, as long as your carry rack isn't too bouncy in the receiver, (there will be some bounce just from having it on the rear of the vehicle, as that is typically the most bouncy part) then it should be fine. Most tongue ratings are between 600 and 650 lbs so your scoot falls well below the...
My first Jeep was a used 1995 Cherokee Sport (XJ). I got it on trade of a 1994 Chevy Silverado Extra cab 4x4, 5.0L, 5sp. Beautiful truck but, the PCM went bad around 38K miles and GM wouldn't do anything about it because it was 2K miles out of warranty.
Anyways, I really liked that XJ. Went...
The solution could be even simpler than a tazer or J-scan.
If you first put your window down (unless it's raining or cold out, then leave it up) then simply unplug the door's electrical connector (like you've taken the doors off) then that should disable that 'feature'. If it didn't, then how...
To me it seems even simpler...just put light assemblies in where your reflectors go in the rear bumper then simply wire them (running new wires along the frame from the front to the rear) like you would a utility trailer. There'd be zero connection to the Jeep's wiring harness, and this way you...
I simply start it and move out. Usually by the time I've gone 1/2 a mile, I'm getting heat. Of course before I even move, right after starting, I hit the cancel auto start/stop button and turn on the butt toaster (heated seat). Then it's drop in gear and go, no muss, no fuss.
The said it's only available to retired or active duty military. At those prices, active duty military won't be able to afford it...only retired will if they were able to parlay their military experience into a high paying job...
A couple of times, I tried to put it into the Auto shifting mode at 65 MPH and it immediately dropped from 7th to 4th and the RPMs went from 2,100 to over 4K...and this was on a level road, no grades or anything so, the Auto trans computer really doesn't know any better than what your intuition...
Are you shifting manually or just letting the auto trans (try to) do it's thing?
I tow a 27', 5,100 lb (with all we want or need) travel trailer (2021 Vantage Sonic SN220VRB) with my Overland (ordered 5/19, delivered 7/19) and, shift totally manually.
My up shifts are between 2,000 and 2,500...
Whelp...that time of year again...
Swapped out my BestTop SunRider top for the Freedom panels for the winter.
C'mon mid-late April when I can put the SunRider top back in.
