Some of what he says is illogical to me. He says if you have an 1,100 lb payload capacity, and IF you have 700 lbs of people and 100 lbs of gear in the back, you have only 300 lbs of payload left, which means you then have only 300 lbs of payload/tongue weight left to pull a 3,000 lb trailer...
Okay. Thanks. I crawled under my truck and looked at the matching spare wheel, which mercifully was mounted inside-down.
It says: 5/6H = 60 psi max; 8H = 80 psi max.
What do the references to numbers of Hs mean? Is that the number of bolt holes? If so, why would that matter? I can see...
The number in the door appears to me to be neither of those. It doesn't say "max" anything; just a recommended tire pressure, I think, at which the GVWR can be achieved.
I won't buy any 4x4 tires other than the Cooper STT Pros anymore.
For the OP's purposes, for example, the 34.5" LT295/70R18 Cooper STTs have a max load rating of 4,080 lbs. http://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-stt-pro
Seems like that would be one option that would work for you.
And...
Thanks. I don't have stock tires and couldn't easily find it on the inside of the wheel. The door information suggests that the stock tires/wheel should be set at 37 psi, but that can't be the max inflation for the wheels. There is no max wheel pressure numbers in there. I read somewhere that...
Interesting. I don't think I ever have seen this as a spec on a vehicle manufacturer's website. Where do you find that?
All of the written advice I have ever seen on max pressure relates to the tire's specs, which led to me to the assumption that normal wheels are always going to exceed...
When you said, “so true on both RK & MC...”, I thought you were referring to the comment to which you were responding that "MC has been silent by not saying much and has made it feel like a simple 'we now offer a JT lift' period."
In any event, I said "just to be fair:," and thought I would...
True. And it seems like the first Gladiator sales (aside from some limited early activity) occurred starting more than 1/3 into the year (May), and the sales/buying activity didn't really ramp up until arounds October. The first one I ever saw was in early August. I think I first heard of the...
I get that now, but something other than that was conveyed in the post I was quoting, which said "the JT isnt just struggling 266k+ sold is impressive," without mentioning the Wrangler.
The MC lift may be equal to, or better than, the RK lift in various respects. And, by all accounts they both are very good.
However, to be fair to RK, they have been very active on this forum, providing information and answering (through 181 posts) every question (at least, by my observation)...
Dang, how did you already get that installed?
That says it won't even arrive until Nov. 14 - 19.
Wait, I bet you got the Premium Max Time-Travel feature.
Can't speak to other options, but that one works great for me.
First Wave: I first installed the amazing Rock Krawler JT 3” Pro-X “No Limits” lift along with the Synergy relocation kit and the Fox 2.0 SS. The Synergy Tie Rod and Drag Link were then on backorder.
The results were amazing and...
Sorry, but you made a mistake. Based on bad advice, in Jan. 2012, I put a cheap 4" lift from Pro Comp on my JKUR. I had the TC system going off all the time; the installer couldn't align it properly. Drove like hell.
I immediately spent a ton of money replacing all 8 control arms with...
I see. They're all connected. I've camped in that area countless times along the Deer Creek trail. Nice place when they're aren't too many people.
It's been awhile since I did the main part of Radical Hill and Webster Pass, but both were cringe-worthy. Slip a few feet downhill, and you're...
