I had started a similar thread, but only my rear won't read anything. I used 4 new OEM sensors on new 17x9 DT-1s. Ive swapped front to rear, and still on the fronts read. Something is up with the rear receiver not picking up the signals. Very frustrating.
This is true, but where its higher up I went with an aluminum engine/trans skid from ASFIR. Yours looks like a manual transmission though so the exhaust may be a little different
Ha, yea you will need a longer shock bolt. the skid is so thick that the oem bolt barley catches the threads on the lock nut. RH doesn't supply longer shock bolts, but they do for the CA skids....go figure. I don't remember what size bolt it was exactly, I think I just brought it to Home Depot...
The rock hard kit is for the axle side only. The Rustys skids go on the frame side of the rear lower control arms ( a notorious spot getting hit on the JTs)
while I'm not familiar with the terrain down there, I would say start with the lowest points that hit. Its real rocky where I wheel so I figured it was best to protect what can bend easy or get hung up. Once the damage is done, it's done and can be tough to straighten back out. There is plenty...
Nice. Thats what I had to do. I got a set of used, like new, 35x12.5s and I couldn't get a shop to mount them on my stock rubi wheels either. Ended up getting the 17x9s I wanted earlier than expected...
This may be the answer. I'm still waiting for the parts to come in for my RR axle leak so I will inquire about it then. I may try putting the stock wheels and tires back on to see if it picks up those again. They were reading fine, and this issue started the day I put the 35s on.
yes I have had it on the highway many times in the last few weeks with plenty of ignition cycles. still can't get them to read. Glad to see they are working for you on your rig, at least I know it's not the wheels. Thanks
Yes, that's what I just tried recently. Now the rears on the front are reading, and the fronts that were reading before aren't picking up in the rear. Thats why I figured it wasn't a sensor issue, but a receiver issue.
I recently mounted the DL DT-1s with 4 new OEM TPMS sensors. They are 17x9 w/ 4.5 BS. I am unable to get the TPMS to read the rears. I swapped a rear from the front and now its reading the sensor from that wheel and not the one in the back. This leads me to believe there is an issue with the...
I think it's relatively new. Looks very similar to all the lower end tents like the smittybilt and body armor. Nothing I have every had rough country on any of my builds have been quality and I swore I wouldn't use any RC on my JT
Nice setup. It looks like you have a tonneau cover but I can't tell what kind. Does the fishbone rack allow for tonneau rails to be mounted on top of it.
I did mine wheels on the ground. The CA stayed still on the first side, but moved slightly on the other side. Had to use a ratchet strap around the axle and forward to the frame to pull the axle back into alignment for the CA bolt. Still an easy job.
Any luck figuring this out yet? I have a similar rattle noise. I swear its the spare tire moving around but its tight as can be. Its almost like a knocking noise over bumps like a bad bushing?
Hey Kate, thanks for looking out. I am still waiting on the backordered axle to come in so the dealer can replace it. I will give them the chance first.
Thank you, Axel
I ran into pretty much all the same stuff you see on the forum with the skids I got. The Rusty's frame side CA skids required the drilling out of one of the bolt holes to line up, the RockHard shock skids didn't come with longer bolts and the factory ones will be too short, and the Rancho front...
Picked up a set of lightly used 35x12.50 Dick Cepek tires of FB marketplace for $650 for all 5. I wanted to have them mounted on the stock Rubi wheels for now, but couldn't get a shop to put a 12.5 on a 7.5 rim.
I ended up just getting a set of the Dirty Life DT-1 17x9s. I wanted a wheel with...
Next was adding some more protection underneath. Trails in New England are rocky, and with this wheelbase you just about drag on everything. I started with the lowest points first such as Control arms and shocks, differentials. Then I added an engine/ transmission skid. I didn't want the full...
I would definitely be interested in seeing what you get. I too was hoping to use the T-slots for a rack. The best I've seen so far is the Front Runner mid-rise arms and crossbars. They still allow the cover to be rolled most of the way open but don't offer a lot of mounting options for gear like...
