Not really camping yet. I traded my 3500 6.7 for my max tow to pull our new travel trailer. Hopefully we will be camping up in Moab and Page, Arizona early next year. Not going to go crazy on mods, but wanted the gladiator so we can do moderate trails when we travel. This was in Brinda, Arizona...
I went with sport s max tow because we bought a travel trailer with a gvwr of 5,500lbs, and it weighs all of that. Just did a 2,000 mile round trip to Komiefornia and it performed awesome. I've had it out on some trails and was very impressed with what it can do with just the stock A/T's. I...
I tow a 26' travel trailer with my sport s max tow and don't think I would want to go past 28' myself. We just did a 2,000 mile round trip to Komiefornia and our trailer weighs right at 5,500 lbs. Got 11 mpg and and could comfortably get 200 miles per tank. Really quite impressed with the...
I've finally seen a few T3's for sale online. Most my camping, overlanding will be in my tj rubicon, I need it to pack down as small as possible. My max tow will be primarily used to tow are travel trailer when the wife wants to go glamping. (Or tag along)
It might be awhile. My tj needs some attention for now. The more I research, the more I'm finding your not really gaining much. I've been pretty impressed where the stock tires have taken me so far.
If I hadn't already made plans for Page,AZ and White Pocket with my sisters inlaws about that time, I would really like to have tried to make this trip. My Sport S max tow won't be getting any lifts, other than maybe some 33's, which aren't that much bigger than the stock A/T's. I'll watch for...
My 2 cents. I went with the max tow. I new we were getting a 26' travel trailer with gvwr of 5,500lbs. I've taken it out on forest roads and some light trails and lowered the air down to around 17lbs or so and it performed exactly how I expected.
I don't remember the post that I read on here, but someone mentioned turning off sway control due to the trucks computer trying to correct any movement of the trailer while in tow.
