AFE dry flow filter has worked well for me. Just cleaned it last month after 20k. I carry a stock filter on road trips too. If I find the backroad im on is super dusty, I will take the 5 mins to switch it out. Havent had to yet but still carry it.
Im happy with the pentastar. My brother had 5 trouble free years with one in his Jeep GC and now has a JL. my wifes journey is 6 years old, again trouble free with 110k and my JK gave me 3 trouble free years. So far its been great going on its third oil change soon. Started running 91 octane in...
So I added my .5” spacers, now 2” total up front and .75” out rear. The Mojave springs matched up the Mojave sghocks make it drive much smoother. Did a quick route that involves broken asphalt and railroad crossings. Yeah much improved, worth 4-5 hours work.
I didnt gain any front height. Nearly identical to my rubi springs.
Update: 1/4” gain on the front after moving the jeep. I was expecting .5” or more. Oh well, im going to add my extra .5” spacer this afternoon. No biggie to do it
Bringing this tread back to see the light of day. Removing my Rubi springs tomorrow for Mojave springs. Currently have the Mojave shocks so this should be a nice match. I will post pictures and ride height differences.
I did the classic Warn plate and VR10s with the stock steelie bumper. I like it, its clean, its somewhat light and well…. Its a Warn. Only dropped 1/4” on my front end. Adding my Mojave springs tomorrow, undecided if I will add my extra .5” spacer along with the 1” height the Mojave springs...
On that note, my Gladiator has 20k kms on it and the leather steering wheel looks like shit. Ive used proper Ph neutral cleaner and a GYEON horse hair brush to clean it. Still looks shiny and worn out. My wifes Journey has 110k kms and it looks the same! Soft leather maybe, dents and chips...
About 90% completed. Just need to clean up the wiring but I got it fired up. Holy hot! Had to turn it to low , 14 celsius. Im one of the few to say im excited for winter!
I spoke to an engineer today. He told me the 2000lb HD 4” would work fine. I dont expect to be over 1700lbs loaded. Thats above that percentage but this coming straight from the horses mouth. I was overzealous in my weight too. Im hoping to keep it under 1600lbs. He told me the 3500lbs would...
So I weighed mine today “empty”, which includes batteries, fridge, awning, rtt and the trailer itself with spare. 1256lbs. So I’m about to order Timbrens but im not sure if 2000lb HD is enough. Water weight is 112lbs full, diesel heater will add about 30lbs and food weight is maybe another...
Just two wet deep cycle 75ah batteries. Nothing fancy, cheap and easy to replace if needed. They come from Canadian Tire which is in just about every town and city in Canada. I figured if something goes wrong I can likely replace one without much drama.
Did a quick two night three day trip at our fav river spot. Successful and with my 120watt solar my 75ah battery stayed above 80%. Ran the fridge, lights, charged phones easily. Added another battery today, still 12v but 150ah total. Diesel heater should be here tomorrow. The goal is 7-10 day...
4” lift timbren? Im doing the same at some point soon. Was looking at the 3500hd but they might overkill. My trailer is about 1000lbs empty as it sits.
you should look up some new or used rv windows too. Get some light into the unit. What colour you going with?
Added a quick charge socket to the outside rear. Dual usb with voltmeter. Crazy easy install with inline fuse. Also ordered a Happybuy 5kw diesel heater that will be install come fall. We love to camp all year round so this will make that more comfortable. Stand by for that install.
Tested the water temp. 28 celsius ambient and water was exactly 10 higher at 38 celsius. Thats in direct sunlight, so best case scenario here. I noticed that running on Mist cools the water at about 2ft of drop where as shower mode it stayed warm throughout. Shower mode appears to drain very...
Its something I might look into in the future. Get my local welding shop to build. Wouldn’t be hard at all to do. We will see, or just get the real deal 4gal unit. Already prepping for the Overland Vehicle Systems shower next!
