Yes correct. I was at 31.5” tires (now 30”) with standard spindles. I knew the long spindles in my particular application would be to wide. The 1 ton kit is actually sweet as it should give a better ride and better up travel through the stroke. Long arm win!
All good.
Suspension: #ASR2KHDS04
My hubs 5x4.5 : #84545_2
Hubs with brakes 5x5 : #94550PR
Im currently on idler hubs. I have yet to feel like i need brakes as my trailer is around 1500lbs loaded. I was told by Timbren to run the 2000lb HD setup as it would give me the best ride and use of...
Timbrens website should show pricing for starters. You will need the suspension and I recommend new bearings/hubs also.
As for the axle that will fit Gladiator wheels, I’m using 5x4.5 to 5x5 wheel spacers to allow to run my Jeep rims. Free2Roam commented that the 1 ton Timbren axles now offer...
Overland for the sake of Overland. I agree Kurt.
I was asked to be featured on a “youtube” channel for my custom trailer build that got some interest. I declined. Im also anti social media and anti social lol. The crowd funded lifestyles I just never understood. Ah maybe I'm simple.
I believe Timbren states 1 5/8” up travel. So yeah my stock gladiator tires and my current fenders just dont work. I was hoping the 4” lift would give me .5” additional height but that didnt happen. Oh well, getting a 30” tire thats more aggressive and all weather rated too.
First test drive completed. Drives like a dream! What a difference. Biggest difference was less feedback to the Jeep over big dips and bumps. Zero noise as well, my old springs creaked and knocked liked crazy. Im impressed, well worth the $$$$ and labour to put it in. On a side note, my fenders...
You could do the Nitto or Toyo 35x11.50/17s or kenda 35x10.50/17. Im running 35x12.50/17 good Year duratracs without issue on stock steelies (same as sport wheels).
Be curious what the actual weight on that trailer is. Looks to be at least 15 years old, prob over max loaded up is my guess. Well past the 80% rule for sure.
So finally the Timbren Axle Less suspension is in. Bit of work but overall pretty good. The hardest part was cutting off and grinding down the old hangers. Axles look great and wait to get everything buttoned up and take her out next week!
I have my eye on those. Thanks for the feedback. $400 cdn but appear to be simple to install and well made.
In addition, did you get a new track bar up front or at least a track bar bracket?
Looking to add a set of drop brackets. Looked at a few. AEV, JKS to name two. What are you all running? Im not rock crawling so clearance isnt a big concern. Are you happy with it? Did you end up adding control arms anyways? Pictures would be awesome too.
2” spacers up front and .75” rear...
Arent you lucky. My Mojave springs only gained me just over 1/4” BUT i have a rubicon steel bumper and warn evo 10s. Ended up adding my additional .5” spacer to give me 2” up front with spacers.
Selling nearly new DD SS3 SAE sport Amber fogs lights with the sport/overland brackets. These fit the plastic bumpers NOT the steel bumper. SAE amber pattern works very well in rain, fog and snow. I would keep these but to order new brackets is expensive and very hard to get in Canada. I now...
