Having owned both the 3.6 and now the 3.0, its superior in almost every way. Plan on big tires? No problem. Plan on hauling overland gear at max payload? No problem. Plan on towing? No problem. This thing hauls ass and return far superior mpg compared to my very similar previous 3.6. Only...
I had from personal experience both 11.5” currently and 12.5” previous. For me personally and the highways and winter weather conditions I encounter, 11.5” hands down are a winner. Less tracking, less hydroplaning and better snow traction. Not mention less contact patch can generally mean...
I was curious of this as i live in Whistler BC, heavy snowfall every winter. Im looking at some aftermarket options and K&N might be the at the top or SB as you wrap the filters to help shed snow and dust. The ram air on my old 2008 6.4 powerstroke would do the same, I used to carry a spare air...
Ever since I saw an episode on SPEED about AEV and the Brute with a 5.7 hemi, I fell in love. The double cab in still my personal favourite with the 5.7 or 6.4. Just plain badass
Ordered. Im looking to add some pep into the ED without a tune (at least for now). Had a 10% off coupon so I pulled the trigger. Truck has enough power, just wanted a bit more grunt on take off.
Rancho control arm drop brackets, teraflex track bar bracket and fox steering stabilizer. One finger driving just about. Highly recommend steering correction when going 2.5” or higher. Very noticeable difference.
34” Nitto Terra G with 2.5” up front .75” rear. Rubicon front bumper and Warn 10s winch. Nothing else added. 22.5mpg average on winter diesel and cold warm ups. Not bad. My gas 3.6 was right 18.5 on stock 33” last winter with no winch or bumper.
Had the AEV snorkel on my JK and my last 3.6 Gladiator. I love them, great insurance and yes, great for cool air. Curious why at least AEV hasn’t done one yet. Diesel market is growing with the Wrangler and Gladiators.
No. I believe some GM vehicles about 10+ years ago had some issues. Ive used oil filters for 15 years, not one single issue. Even on my old 01’ 24v cummins that was running a BD turbo with 400hp. Im running one on my mine, just a replacement k&n, runs great. If I was living a dry dusty climate...
I would say maybe towing it might help. But then again when we tow were not often at 2600+ rpm unless its steep or heavy, which again 20lbft might be helpful.
It will be nice when the industry catches up and we can get more feedback on cai and the ecodiesel.
Hp is whatever to me, I like torque but 20 at 2600 isnt super special but oh well, its a simple mod, its a respectable number. My money is still on the derringer from Banks but something like this could be after. Curious what they will sound like too.
Released by K&N this week. 11hp and 20lbft, seems respectable for just a cai but the power increase is above 2500rpm, not somewhere we drive very often. Might help with towing though when rpms are up a bit higher.
