The problem still exists with the tow package. The diesels all come with the same cooling fan (HD 800-900 Watt cooling fan), axle ratio (wide for rubicon), and alternator.
If you live near big mountains or temps in the 100s it can be an issue. More so if you are towing and or have tires over...
I add 1.5 front spacer level kit on my overland with Rubicon take off shocks and it rode like shit. I dont know if the shocks were already blown out or what but it bottomed out a LOT more than the little overland stock shocks. It was weird because the fox shocks were harder to compress by had...
The amp rating on the winch will likely have 2 numbers, a unloaded free spool and a locked/loaded spool current. It may run the winch with no load and then pop the fuse once loaded.
Alright here is my story with a somewhat good end.
@ 0 miles ran great even cold starts 10 degrees
@3000 miles a cold start and slow ramp up to speed on my 35mph road felt like I had a tire out of balance.
@ 5000 miles - oil changed at dealership. Still ran rough on cold starts until it was...
If one shock went bad you probably would not notice it. It seems very unlikely that you would have multiple shock go bad at once and those shock will take more abuse than any other shock on jeeps. Most failures are from overheating off road or just a bad seal.
An F rated tire sounds way to HD...
I have a OBD Veepeak scan plug and the Fusion app on my phone with a dash setup I downloaded from here (that was from ram ecodiesel). I says DPF% but I dont know how accurate it is. It shows when a Active or Passive regen happens. Passive happens a lot, basically when ever your not idling...
It may be tripping on some weird lines in the road.... The only issue I had was when a monster bug hit in just the right place on the upper windshield and when my buds diesel threw a smoke screen I couldn't see through LOL.
Sounds like you will be driving a perfect schedule for it. I try to drive two 30 minute highway(55+mph) trips per tank of fuel. You should also give it at least a few minutes to warm up before you get to heavy on the throttle.
My door sticker says my paint is "PDN" - Sting Gray but I have no clue where you would find matching frame paint. I would call it "thin black with green tinge" LOL Good luck!
If you hit the camera button it should show the cargo camera at the top of the screen. If that shows up that you are setup properly with your scan tool. Mine was a Nov 2020 build 2021 8.4". Somewhere in the Z Automotive instruction it said there could be other pins.
This is where I was pinned. I did the full Z Automotive setup and it works great with their camera or the Metra BBBPC camera. I power mine from the trailer connector.
Does lugging these engines generate more heat than downshifting (generally speaking)?
For example 8th gear at 70mph (towing) is 1900 rpm at maybe 1/2ish throttle. Should I downshift before I get to any grades and shoot for say 2500rpm instead? What is the highest rpm you would recommend...
I agree with the above and put 1K on it or so. I also have concern the dealer is actually going to come through with your order. They typically only give estimates on delivery.
The didn't see any emissions issues until after 6k miles so I think you will be good for your trip. You have also...
2024 there will likely be a front end update and the rest of the power for the diesel (like the ram has), if it survives that long. I am sure it would be a thicker radiator.
There is room to add another radiator in front of the AC condenser. Then route a few smaller 1" lines from the main...
