You’re in the Mojave Clan now , jump that truck that will straighten everything out! I hate to agree with “it’s a Jeep thing” but loosening the bolts up does make you head to a body shop for a touch up. Perhaps stop at a shop and see if they can adjust stops or latch without loosening bolts…Jack

Welcome, 4,000 pounds sounds low, do you have a manual transmission? Most Gladiators with auto transmission and the tow package are at about 6,000 pounds , Rubicon is about 7,000 and the sport with Max Tow option and small wheels is about 7,600. Looks like a Willys edtion by the tires and hood...

Look on the back of the transfer case , if there is a flat round plate nope, but if there is an all aluminum thing with the third shifter attached you got a sweet setup much better drivability around town and highway. Warn made the best locking hubs and that overdrive back in the day….Jack
