Am i thinking correctly then, from your reply, that the "integrated track" rack, will work if you DON'T have integrated tracks (yet)? Or am I mis-interpreting your reply?
@KB Voodoo a couple pages back, you mentioned you have brackets for covers with integrated accessory tracks, can those be purchased later? Or, can I purchase the rack with the requisite brackets but use it with a cover that does not have integrated accessory tracks?
For example, right now I...
@ShadowsPapa I'm also a camper-yanker with my JT, and I'm paranoid about not exceeding limits. So would a good way to estimate how much cargo capacity I've got available be to take the Jeep to a CAT Scale, with a full tank of gas and me in it, then subtract that from the GVWR?
Then add up...
That looks nice! When I ran the current harness up the side of the dash, just to see how far it would get, the wire did seem to bend fairly easily (and it's mostly a straight shot, anyways,) and I suspect the wire is just stranded (not sure of the gauge though.)
The worst of it is, all I need is a female and male connector, either the ones Tekonsha uses or the ones Jeep uses! I can MAKE the bloody thing! But yeah, I think I'm going to end up picking up some wire of the right gauge and crimp connectors...
I probably should've put that in the post, shouldn't I? ?
It's a Tekonsha Prodigy P3, so it's not a "button" unit like the MOPAR or Redarc controllers.
I finally realized where I've got my brake controller mounted is not exactly the best, if I ever need to manually activate the trailer brakes (left side by the door, down low, so I have to lean down to activate.)
I don't want to buy a new controller that might mount similar to the MOPAR brake...
Hmm, now I'm wondering if I hurt or helped my payload capacity...
Took out the back seats and replaced them with a Cargo Dog storage system. Suppose I could go down to the basement with a scale and see what the seat sections weigh (I'm willing to bet at least 100lbs total, probably more)
The T@B400 is a great camper and definitely bigger than you think if you see it on it's own.
I'm 6ft and I can stand upright in about the middle 3rd of the camper without brushing the ceiling at all. It feels VERY solidly built (a friend of ours, when we showed them the interior of ours...
Honestly, a wet bath isn't all that horrible. It's got a door, we generally don't use the shower to save on water, we use the campground showers (someday, we'll get the gumption to try boondocking) and with (in our model year) the flip up sink, it's not super-tight, either. Newer model years...
nuCamp T@B 400 Boondock we bought a couple months after getting the Jeep.
One of the wife's must haves if we got a camper was a bathroom in the camper, this has a nice wet bath.
We were 3160lbs on the trailer axle and about 500lbstongue on this trip, with both our bikes on the tongue rack...
While from the descriptions, it's not someplace I'll NEED the winch, there's some ORV trails up north by where I'm going camping later this summer.
I'm thinking of "pretending" I've gotten myself "stuck" in some sand, and winching myself out.
That, or going to a much closer to home ORV park and...
I've read that you should, if the line gets wet, pull it out (not all the way!) so your line can dry before spooling it back in. I've got a synthetic line (Harbor Freight Badlands,) and it's been raining. I don't have a winch cover, and my winch sits VERY low in the bumper so it's covered from...
Dang you people for giving me reasons to spend more money! We bought a Tekonsha P3 which has worked well enough, other than being mounted right down over my dead pedal knee.
Which can be interesting if / when I need to manually enable the trailer brakes (so far, once) because I have to lean...
I'll drive it naked, but I need to keep an eye on the weather and be able to park it in the garage. Arguably, I'd be fine taking it to work naked, considering where I work.
But, right now? Yeah, no, not in 30F weather...
