static and rotating mass are different. While 9lbs times 4 in the bed of the truck would be not noticed 9lbs on each rotating axle will make difference.
Anything on rotating assembly: tire, rim and such will make a huge impact at smaller weights. You will be able to tell if there is 9lbs extra weight on each corner when it spins due to physics. I installed wheel spacers that are 5lbs each and I could tell the difference.
Do it :) only thing you will need is a grimm line to route a coupler to the front bumper and under the hood mount or Grimm offroad mount that goes into inner finder. Plus you can get by with the airhose and grimm offroad inflator for at least a year before you move onto 4 way air/up and down...
Northridge has arb twin with free accessories right now. That would be the best deal for air compressors. I ran Morrflate twin which is similar to the one from amazon and it bit dust after about a year. But I was using it every other weekend. I use compressor to air up so much that I made the...
I would avoid front digs on most of the trails in Colorado. Most of them are rocks which once you start doing that will tear the trail up. That is even before you start taking in consideration wear and tear on tires and driveline. The tightest switchbacks in Colorado are on Black Bear. All of...
Let me know how you like them baller joints. Definitely on my radar when I go with reids knuckles.
I been working on my jeep the whole summer LOL full metalcloak control arms and track bars, aev 3 inch HD springs that gave me 5 inches of lift in the rear and 3.5-4 in the front, adams...
Same, got metalcloak fender liners, arb twin compressor, 1 inch spacer for the front and longer shocks to install. Saving myself for the august 1st for a week of activities and beers :D
I am actually about to buy new tent. Leaning towards ShiftPod Mini. Friend is buying my Roam Vagabond and I will use the shiftpod until I get my Lone Peak camper.
Which tent did you go with?
I want to get metalcloak inner fenders installed and wondering if they will fit with Grimm Off-road dual arb compressor mount. Does any one running this setup? Or perhaps @Metalcloak can answer?
If all you want is 2 inch lift and 35s, I would recommend Rubicon. I have Willys that I ran 35 Milestar tires and 2 inch AEV puck lift for 3 years on 3.73 stock gears in Colorado. I was averaging about 20-23 mpg on highway. I drive like a grandpa and don't go anywhere fast. Now with Rubicon you...
It looks like Black Bear Pass will open later in July. Crews are starting work on Telluride side. Been waiting to do this trail for last two years now.
You will be fine. Just be careful on Mineral Creek if you do it. It is open but it is rougher than I have ever seen.
I second Bushducks! they are great resource.
