If you are staying in Salida you are better off just going straight to the campsite on Tuesday. That is a good cause. A lot of us locals buy those, even if we don't use the trails that require OHV permit the money still goes to maintaining the trails.

No permit needed. There is only handful of trails in Colorado that require OHV permit.

I would bring recovery gear. I don't think we will need it but it is always nice to have and not need it. Definitely yes on water cans and spare water. I don't see fuel being an issue, but a jug of it wouldn't hurt. I am bringing pretty much all my camping gear. Two water cans and one water...
