Well, I am officially all set for this trip  My MetalCloal rear sway bar braces showed up and I threw them on. After disassembling the rear sway bar links from brackets I realized how close I came to loosing my rear sway bar lol

Getting the factory nut off was a pain in the rear. It is actually not even welded on but stamped on. I want to meet an engineer who thought that was a great idea on high stress part lol

New MetalCloak brackets definitely look good and strong as hell.
Also ordered some MetalCloak quick disconnects and threw them on

Goof Off
I'm leaving Abilene the 25th arriving at the camp ground afternoon of the 26th. Bringing:
- Two handheld grms radios, so I will also have a spare
- Recovery equipment including winch
- Tools, tape, tire sidewall repair kit, tire plugs
- Full camping with RTT and 12v Fridge
- 10 gallon water tank
- Deflate/inflate gear
- Traction boards
- Chair
- Rain gear
...and most important: a chill attitude and some libations!
Debating on bringing the privy tent and portable john?
Question: Is Colorado in a burn ban?

I am keeping my eye on fire ban but so far we are in a clear. On the 25th I will also call the park service and sheriffs office out there to confirm.

And why was I not invited to Whistling Pines?

Met Will and his beautiful new Gobi Gladiator this afternoon at Whistling Pines. He's a recent PCS to the Colorado Springs area and I invited him to join us in Ouray for the week of the 25th!

Looking forward to wheeling and drinking with you.
We joke about the chill attitude, but people are giving up vacation time for this. People are driving from all over for this. Let's make this an annual thing. We pick a spot and meet up. Good way to run with a group, hit some challenging trails and up our collective experience. IF this is your first time at altitude, I recommend 3x your water intake.

Because it's an open invitation! Zeroed the red dot for the backup gun I'm bringing to that training course the weekend before Ouray. I need to get 500 more rounds through the STI before then too so more shooty next week if you want to go.

I need as much time with the 1911 as I can get. And shooting with people better than me makes me better.

Will here! Thanks for the plug and it was great meeting you too! This trip would be amazing as it's touching a bunch of spots I have on my "to do" list. I'm hoping the leave dates will work out. Would a 2 door JK (2.5" lift, 35s, winch) be welcome instead of my new Glady? I'm more in tune with my short wheelbase JK off-road and it would be more capable than my stock (at the moment) gladiator.

brother either rig will work just fine so it’s your choice! Would be great to have you join the group for this trip!

Much appreciated. Will keep my fingers crossed the timing works out, otherwise if something like this happens again with more notice for me I will 100% pencil it into the schedule.

Also looking to join Whistling Pines so perhaps I'll see y'all there too. Will be speaking to a guy there about some NFA purchases that I'm interested in making now that I'm in place for an extended period of time!
