I am actually about to buy new tent. Leaning towards ShiftPod Mini. Friend is buying my Roam Vagabond and I will use the shiftpod until I get my Lone Peak camper.

Which tent did you go with?

Sorry to hijack the thread, is anyone going on any trail runs in the front range this weekend? I want to escape the heatwave and head up high

Love to, but have too much work to do on the Jeep. Starting today I think.

Decent amount of work for sure. I’d trade you though. I’m doing metalcloak ball joints, mopar cast iron knuckles, 2.5 ton steersmarts aluminum tie rod, and fox asc stabilizer. It’s going to suck.

Let me know how you like them baller joints. Definitely on my radar when I go with reids knuckles.

I been working on my jeep the whole summer LOL full metalcloak control arms and track bars, aev 3 inch HD springs that gave me 5 inches of lift in the rear and 3.5-4 in the front, adams driveshaft and now I have to change out shocks again because I got the ones for 3 inch lift. I guess it is is a good issue to have.

I’m sure they’ll be great. I went with molar knuckles as they still have steering stop adjustments, which Reid does not. I also don’t like the drag link casting on the Reid driver knuckle.

I lifted mine more in late winter. It’s now 4” in front and 6” in the rear. 3.5” teraflex hd springs in front with a 1/2” spacer.

That is not bad for under $1k.

It’s a pretty nice tent, but I’ve never had a roof top, so don’t have much of a comparison.

I might rotate it 90° to come out the back.

Yeah that shouldn’t be a problem. I am running vagabond with annex so if I did that I would block my tailgate.

Penitente is worth a visit… was cool temps (especially overnight) but I could see it getting hot later in the summer. We stayed in the fairly empty campground, spot 14, convenient to the clean bathroom, but I’d recommend spot 11… gets you a little farther from the loop and more private if you pull all the way in.

Hike (or run) the little canyon early in the morning. It’s about the only shady spot in the area.

Del Norte is close & 3 Barrel Pizza is a good brewery. Monte Vista is a cool little town… like a Colorado mountain town vibe from the 70s.

Sand Dunes are straight across the valley… don’t miss zapata falls if you go.

If you fish, the Rio Grande in South Fork is good… lots of good spots in that area.
