Yep. I feel genuinely bad for the guys who bought an upper trim new in like 2022 and now it’s worth 50% less 2 years later. Even for a new car, that’s a steep drop— but for a truck? Abysmal.

Bikini was a "late 2024" but they said 4xe was 2025. What they didn't say is would it be model year 2025 or "out in" 2025, as in an early '26 the way they used to release cars. No sign of bikini. And, with the "free" automatic etc., many of the 2025's will be cheaper than the yet-unsold new...

Pricing update. I just went through Cars.com (dealerships) and here are the prices for the cheapest Gladiators matching my rather basic filters: 2024 Max Tow vs ecodiesel. For both, colors were black, blue, and red. No other filters. There were a few more pages of higher-priced diesels, but...

And with the lower prices, but included automatic, there's a big price differential between last year and this year.

Might be a typo, but on the price lines they all say 24 (as in 2024), not 25. In the earlier guides, they'd show 23 and 24, or both, but this new one doesn't say 25 or even 24 and 25. So, that might just be the new 2024 prices going into 2025, despite it saying "2025" at the top.

Thinking about it differently this morning-- yes, $45k new & basic is "only $15k" more than $30k fancy & used, and would mean no miles, full warranty, 0%, my "first new car", could be ordered and bought without hunting for a deal on a used one that's good enough, etc., vs used with 40,000 miles...
