What's a "U.S. owner" gonna do differently from a foreign owner? U.S. companies are driven by greed and profit more than anyone. You want a way more expensive, lower quality Jeep? Cool let's make it 100% murrcan owned built and sold.
Speaking of bugs....the wife and I were just talking the other day about how "lovebugs" are pretty much non-existent now in our part of the world. They used to be in abundance every spring. Now we never see them anymore.
I'm an aggressive driver. I got about 16.5 mpg in a major city on 37s with stock 3.73s. Still too early to tell on 4.88s but according to dash data I've picked up 1 mpg and now I'm hovering at almost 18 mpg.
Is that the fault of engine choice though? Or is it that new Jeeps are ridiculously expensive for what they are and not the best option for regular people unless you just really want one.
It's going to be tough to determine what gears you have without cracking open the diff and counting teeth. Sometimes you can turn the wheel one revolution and count how many times the pinion yoke spins, but that's going to be tough if you're trying to determine 4.10 vs 4.88. It's going to be...
To me the real question is...how many regular every day people give a shit? Not hardcore crusty dirty Jeep enthusiasts. I'm talking regular people that just want a Jeep that will rarely, if ever, see dirt. Those are the people companies are concerned with. They're not worried about Hemis and...
@Metalcloak went above and beyond to help me out with a problem I was having with another company. So while I'm not technically a brand loyalist, they will always be my first choice and first option whenever possible.
I'm in far west Houston so it's about a 2.5 hr drive. Maybe 3. I've been there before in the wife's JL but that was before I had my JT fixed up and we didn't know about the BOH stuff. It's a really cool place and the closest thing I have to actual rocky shit offroading..
Yeah I suppose so. And how do we feel about Japanese products now? I think most will agree they're very good now that post-WWII-era racism against Japanese manufacturing is long gone. Maybe when current manufactured racism against Chinese manufacturing is gone we'll all realize that it's just...
There is obviously a partisan bias towards anything from "China" as some people have been conditioned to consider that place the enemy.
The reality is a huge amount of stuff we use day to day is made in China and functions totally fine. No one cared until they were told to care.
