Mine's covered in dusty green tree pollen and fuzzy oak tree jizz. I hate this time of year down here. Temps are nice, but the trees are making a mess of everything. We don't have nice autumn leaves changing colors and dropping gently into yards. We have spring time pollen terrorism.

That's a gross oversimplification. All conventional engines will balance. Four, six, eight cylinders...they all divide into 360 evenly. None of them are better or worse than others.
Sometimes things seem cool on paper or in beer fueled conversations, but in reality they're shit. The Viper's V10 being one of them. OMG FUCK YEAH A V10! Those pieces of shit barely made 1 hp/cu in by the end of their run. They sounded fucking awful too.
Is this in general, or only related to Jeeps with turbos?
Because turbos in general have been proven reliable and safe for decades. Turbos rarely fail and they don't harm engines. People do.
V8s "shake" when you want them to...they don't inherently shake. They can, they don't have to. The idea of "balance" is important for longevity and bearing wear....but none of them are better or worse really. Do you think Top Fuel or F1 or Nascar gives a shit about V8s having balance issues...
