Would be curious to hear feedback on any of these units from someone with a stick, specifically after an upshift. That's when I've noticed it to be the worst, it feels like it's going in a shock mode or something depending on rpm or how fast letting off the clutch(?)
Yeah fair. Also don't want them to blindly believe they are causing 0 additional wear on their engine. No proof of that either.
And provide a logical reason that one might disable ESS.
That's being rational also.
Calling someone a shadetree mechanic is emotional (trying to discredit someone's argument by putting a label on them) and not rational in itself.
Your starter motor has X cycles in it before failing. The more cycles you put on it, the sooner it will wear out (some will wear sooner than others)...
Just setting the record straight from what you said brotha ?
It is the right thread, as you just mentioned a few posts ago that you didn't understand the "irrational" hate for ESS. So I wanted to give you a rational example based on logic.
I haven't seen anything that actually refutes the fact that starting your engine more times increases starter wear. So no...not tough to understand.
Not irrational as you stated.
I'm torn on getting something like this - I get the feeling that the stock tune is playing games delaying the throttle response between shifts particularly, as if I'm going to blow up the glass clutch shifting from 2nd to 3rd at 3,000 rpm. This is different from the overall throttle response...
I've had good experiences with anything up to the weight limits, like other trucks I've had. There's lots of truck stuff you can do to get up to those limits. Of course a bigger truck is going to have bigger limits generally.
Doesn't really matter if someone labels it as "supervisory"...
I don't follow your logic.
Trailer rental owners determine what is a real truck? Why do I have to prepare to have my feelings hurt? Why does it have to be a YJ rolling chassis?
Does hauling 1,000 lb of deck boards meet the standard of these trailer rental owners that determine what a truck...
Sweet. I was trying to put it behind the seat in the cab, but wouldn't work with the seat lock notch pieces. This seems solid since it sounds like it can't fall out.
For sure, I just mean rolling it up from left to right, as opposed to from top to bottom. Doing it that way, I didn't have to roll it up as tight to and still get it small enough to just fit under the seat.
