Thanks for sharing your experience, love airstreams. You have 3.73 I'm assuming? This would be extra motivation for me to change to a correct axle ratio.
Personally, I'd regear it for the tires you want before you do the tires (you will need to regear 100%). Using 6th would be borderline even with 4.10's on the stock 32's (in my experience using 5th on the highway).
There are a million gear threads so I won't delve into, other than to briefly...
Separate from the execution, I do like the look of the slimmer taillight housing being more flush with the bed. But I think it would look a lot better with the lens' being larger. Or the lens being the entirety of the back-facing surface, like the stock units.
Same experience with my Colorado just over 90k miles until I sold it. Of course it didn't have the fun factor nor the off road capabilities of the Jeep, which is an easy trade-off for me to give up a little on-road practicality.
Where do you think the chips in your "Toyota" come from? I understand your frustrations, but please acknowledge you're being very emotional in that comment, it doesn't make logical sense.
Unless you already left, you don't need to acknowledge anything ha
It's a shame they half @ssed something so simple as a hydraulic clutch / flywheel. Not that I would let that push me into an auto when at least the aftermarket will address it.
Good to know thanks. We get our fair share of wet snow here, I'd just be worried if it was during work or sometime I couldn't go out and push it off quick. But sounds like not a big deal really.
Fair point, IFS is no doubt going to be smoother, but honestly it wasn't enough of a difference for me to actually notice the first time I drove the Jeep.
Same thing when I went from my first truck (Ford ranger with twin I beams) to the Colorado. But I like old trucks so maybe that's built...
That's pretty exaggerated in my opinion and experience coming from a Colorado. They both ride like trucks, and neither are "effing terrible" in any measure. Payload is the main thing I think should be a little better in the Gladiator.
I'm in Iowa so probably similar to what you mentioned at any given time. Given I have no real experience with the soft top on snow, just my intuition. Good to know though if it handles it pretty well.
