For those who've lain their eyes on the mechanism which holds the stock shift knob on, you will know that finding an aftermarket one can be difficult especially with how the reverse lockout ring marries with the knob when extended. I was worried this wouldn't work but this was Plan A and it ended up working exactly as I hoped. I was never a fan of the stock knob and how it felt.

I put m10*1.25 threads on the shift lever and spun this knob on with a brass adapter. The bottom of the knob required removing a little material with a carbide burr but it's already shaped underneath to almost accept the reverse lockout ring.

The Nismo knob is a homage to my JDM days lol but I'm really happy with the look and feel of it.

Cutting the threads right in the center console and final result:

Do you have to work your way up in shift knob size until you get to that point?

I love this thread ? and I’m glad to see you’ve customized your gladiator as you see fit. And as a manual JT driver I completely agree that the stock knob is too girthy.

That said I’d rather not grab a d*** every time I shift ? Props to you OP for figuring it out though.
