I'm sticking with 305s or 315s, so the Mopar 4.88s should be good. That would be about 0.88 over the same final ratio with 315s, so mileage wouldn't be affected much or might be even better.
I'm waiting to make sure no warranty issues, just a little bit longer. I'll probably go 4.88 as well, just to keep 6th uphill. I'm on 315/70/17s (35"). I don't plan to go any larger on the tires, so I think it'll be a good fit.

I'll let you know how the Cooper or Kanati (whichever comes in) 305/70-17s work. The Coopers are only 60 lbs in Load range E, so I'll probably go with them since Kanatis seem to be rare nowadays.

FWIW I have 4.56 gears on my 6 speed JLU and 315/70s. it is decent, but 4.88s would better.
If I ever regear my Mojave on 35” tires, I’ll go with 4.88s. It is also a manual.

Have you done any rock crawling with the 4.56 gears? I do at times. I did get the Kanati 315/70-17s so I’ll see how the 4.10 rear works first.

yes, I don’t have the 4:1 transfer case in my JLUS (2.72:1 in the sport) and it’s still pretty good. Certainly better than with the stock 3.45 gears. With the stock gears it was easy to stall the engine before making it over an obstacle at crawling speeds, but I’ve only stalled 1-2 times since regearing.

Thanks. The MT has a first gear over 5xx4x4.1, so I expect it to be fine.
